The EUTL (Escuela Universitaria de Turismo de Lanzarote) receives every g semester exchange students from all over the world who are participating in well-known exchange programs like ERASMUS, ERASMUS ERASMUS MUNDIS, etc. 4 WHERE IS THE EUTL? The EUTL is situated in the village of T hi h in Tahiche, i th the center t of the island. What is a Residencia N.I.E.? From 28 March 2007 2007, Royal Decree 240/07 requires that all EU citizens planning to reside in Spain for more than three months, have to register in person at the Foreigner´s Office (Oficina de Extranjeros) in their province of residence or at designated Police Stations Stations. However, they will no longer be issued with a residence card and, instead will be issued a green style instead, A4 Residence Certificate stating their name, address, nationality, identity number and date of registration. Why a N.I.E.? By having a N N.I.E. I E you are allowed to travel to all of the seven Canary Islands and to the mainland with a 50% discount! Also the tourist places to visit here on the island and at some tourist places on the other islands you will get a significant discount. So don´t miss the opportunity! 10 MONEY MANAGEMENT Before leaving your home country, it is recommended to informe yoursellf about your bankaccount conditions and if you have the possibility to draw out money tax free in European countries. There is Th i also l the th possibility ibilit tto open a b bank-account k t in Lanzarote following the next steps. 11 MONEY MANAGEMENT EU CITIZENS RESIDENTS: Citizens of the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, should be identified with the following documents: Valid passport or identity card of the origin country (with photo). Certificate of Registration as a European Citizen: This document is issued in the Immigration Office, Police Station. This document includes the NIE. For tax purposes, it is required the NIE (which provide that in the E European Citizen Citi C Certificate tifi t as already l d iincluded), l d d) it iis iissued d iin police li and Civil Guard stations. NON-RESIDENT: Valid passport or identity card with photo. A free card that gives you access to medically necessary necessary, statestate provided healthcare during a temporary stay in any of the 27 EU countries, Iceland, Lichtenstein Norway and Lichtenstein, Switzerland What else do I need to know? The EHIC is NOT an alternative to travel insurance. It does not cover any private healthcare or costs such as a return flight to your home country or lost/stolen property. The EHIC does NOT cover your cost if you are travelling for the express purpose of obtaining medical treatment. How does it work? When you show your EHIC, you will receive treatment under the same conditions and at the same cost (free in some countries) as people insured in that country. Be aware that each country’s country s healthcare system is different. Services that cost you nothing at home might NOT be free in another country country. 17 INSURANCE ONCAMPUS The Internalization and Cooperation Vice-rectorship Vice rectorship (ICV) places at your disposal a university insurance policy, every mobility incoming and outgoing ULPGC student must subscribe. Currently, through the company ““Europea Seguros C S de Viaje”” (ERV), and commercialized through the insurance brokerage SILVAON, S.L., the ICV offers two accident insurance policies and medical assistance policies depending on whether you are a student, educational staff and investigator (PDI) or administration and service staff (PAS). There are many things to do during your free time like hiking, surfing, sailing, snokeling diving, snokeling, diving etc etc.;; and thanks to the perfect temperatures temperatures, you can do each of these activities all year long. Without a doubt,you should definitly visit the island “La Graciosa” and “Alegranza” Alegranza in the north of Lanzarote and “La La Isla de Lobos” Lobos in front of Fuerteventura.
