OBJECT PRONOUN
Casi todas las oraciones tienen un sujeto (subject) y un objeto (object). El sujeto desempeña la acción.
La acción se desempeña en un objeto o a través de un objeto.

Ella está escribiendo una carta
I am listening to music.
(Yo)Estoy escuchando música
John is speaking to the teacher.
John está hablando con el
profesor.
Los pronombres de sujeto (I,you, he, she, it, we, you, they) se usan siempre cuando el pronombre
actúa como sujeto. Cuando un pronombre se usa como objeto, se hace uso de pronombres objetos
especiales (Me, you, him, her, it, us, you, them).

Ellos están viviendo conmigo.
She is working with us.
Ella está trabajando con nosotros.
We are looking at them.
Nosotros les estamos mirando.
They are speaking to her.
Ellos le están hablando.

Nota: Los pronombres objeto you e it son iguales a los pronombres sujeto.
I love you.
Yo te amo.
They want it.
Ellos lo quieren.
Leamos el siguiente diálogo.
A: Hi, Susan
B: Hi, mom!
A: Who are you talking to?
B: I am talking to Peter.
He is helping me with my homework.
A: Oh! I see.
Respondamos a las siguientes preguntas:
Who is Susan talking to?
(¿A quién Susan le está hablando?)
Who is Peter helping?
(¿A quién está Peter ayudando?)
She is talking to Peter.
(Ella le está hablando a Peter.)
Peter is helping Susan.
(Peter está ayudando a Susan.)
Los object pronouns como "me, you, him, her, it, us, them" se utillizan para sustituir en la oración a
sustantivos que hacen la función de Objeto Directo u Objeto Indirecto. Por ejemplo:
Castellano:
Inglés:
Ella está hablando a Peter:
She is talking to Peter:
Sustitución
Ella le está hablando
She is talking to HIM
Como ves, "HIM" está sustituyendo a "Peter".
