Announcing the 2015-2016 Math Curriculum Adoption
Dear Parents and Guardians:
As part of our ongoing collaboration with community and family members, we want to offer you an
opportunity to view the new math curriculum that has been adopted in grades K-12.
The textbook options were shared digitally with the PVUSD community of educators and piloted in
PVUSD classrooms. The 2015-2016 PVUSD Math Pilot Teacher Curriculum Committees evaluated
the piloted math curriculums by rubric for consideration. Feedback from students who
participated in the math textbook pilot was taken into consideration, as well as the input of
administrators. The adoption of new math textbooks required the approval of our PVUSD School
Board.
We are very excited to announce that we have selected three curricula; one for K-5, another for 68, and, yet another that will be phased in at the comprehensive High Schools.
There are two options for you to review the math curriculum that has been adopted:
1) Below are the live links to the virtual overview that you may click on and browse at your leisure.
2) We will have selected grade level samples available in print to view on Thursday, June 2nd from
5pm-7pm at the Pajaro Valley District Office Boardroom (294 Green Valley Road, Watsonville, CA
95076). There will be a small presentation beginning at 5 PM.

Anunciando la adopción del currículo de matemática para 2015-2016
Estimados padres y tutores:
Como parte de nuestra colaboración en curso con la comunidad y miembros de familia, le queremos ofrecer
una oportunidad para revisar el nuevo currículo de matemática que se ha adoptado en grados K-12.
Las opciones para el libro de texto fueron compartidas digitalmente con la comunidad de educadores de
PVUSD y fue piloto en los salones de PVUSD. Los Comités 2015-2016 Piloto de Matemáticas en PVUSD
Currículo de Maestros evaluaron el piloto de matemática por rubrica para consideración. Comentarios de los
estudiantes que participaron en el piloto se consideró, así como la consideración de los administradores. La
adopción de los nuevos libros de texto requería la aprobación del Consejo Administrativo de PVUSD.
Estamos muy emocionados de anunciar que hemos seleccionado tres planes de estudio; uno para K-5, otro
para 6-8, y otro que va ser integrado gradualmente a las escuelas secundarias integrales.
Hay dos opciones para que usted pueda revisar el currículo de matemáticas que ha sido adoptado:
1) a continuación se muestran los enlaces virtuales donde le pueden hacer “clic” y buscar en su tiempo
libre.
2) tendremos muestras de nivel de grado seleccionados en impresión disponibles para ver el jueves, 2º
de junio de 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. en el salón del Consejo Administrativo en 294 Green Valley Road,
Watsonville, CA 95076.
