ORDINANCE NO. O-02-16
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR NOTICE OF GENERAL ELECTION FOR THE
PURPOSE OF ELECTING CITY OFFICERS
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
PALESTINE, TEXAS:
That the Registered Voters of Palestine, Texas are hereby notified:

In accordance with and pursuant to the provisions and requirements ofthe
laws of the State ofTexas, and ofthe Palestine City Charter, an Election is
hereby ordered to be held on May 7, 2016, for the purpose of electing a
one Councilmember from District #l, one Councilmember from District
#3, and one Councilmember from District #5.
Early Voting by personal appearance will be conducted each weekday at
City Hall, 504 N. Queen Street, Palestine, Texas, between the hours of
8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. beginning on April 25,2016, and cnding on May
3, 2016, with extended hours between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on April
26, 2016, and May 3, 201 6.

Applications for ballot by mail shall be mailed to: Teresa Herrera, City
Secretary, 504 N. Queen Street, Palestine, Texas, 75801.
SECTION 4
Applications for ballot by mail must be received by mail no later than the
close ofbusiness on April 26,2016.

The polling places listed below will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
on May 7, 2016, for voting:

del Distrito #1, elegir un miembro del Consejo del Distrito #3, y de elegir
