The Sister Cities Program, administered by Sister Cities International, was initiated by the
President of the United States of America in 1956 to encourage greater friendship and
understanding between the United States and other nations through direct personal contact:

In order to foster those goals, the people of Bryan, College Station, and Salamanca, in a
gesture of triendship and goodwill, agree to collaborate for the mutual benefit of theu"
communities by exploring cultural, educational, and economic opportunities.
Salamanca along with Bryan and College Station share common interests in their culture,
technology^ education, government, and economic activities and desire to promote mutual
understanding amongour citizensdo hereby proclaim themselves Sister Cities beginning
on the 25^^ and 26"" day ofJanuary, 20 H, the date ofthe Bryan and College Station City
Council resolution establishing the Sister City relationship becamejjffective.

fue iniciado por el Presidente de los Estados Unidos de Am^irica en 1956 para favorecer
amistades y comprensi6n entre los Estados Unidos y otras naciones per contacto directo; y
Para fomentar esas metas, las personas de Bryan, de College Station, y de Salamanca, en un
gesto de amistad y buena voluntad, concuerda en colaborar para ei beneficio mutuo de sus
comunidades explorando oportunidades culturales, educativas y econdmicas.
Salamanca en conjunto con Bryan y College Station comparte intereses comunes en su
cultura, en tecnologia, en educacidn, en gobierno, y en actividades economicas y desea
promover el entendimiento mutuo entre nuestros ciudadanos, por la presente se proclaman

Memorandum o f Understanding
Whereas, in the spirit offriendship and goodwill, the sister cities ofBryan-College
Station, Texas and Salamanca, Guanajuato agree:
1. To encourage visits by the citizens of all three cities;
2. To establish affiliations between schools or organizations of the cities;
3. To promote cultural exchanges in the fields of education, government, and business;
4. To develop a mutual understanding of the citizens of all cities by information exchange;
5. To encourage official visits between representatives from each community. Representatives
may include, but are not limited to, government, education, business, technology, and medical
officials.
The success of this endeavor will be the responsibility of the Sister City Associations ofeach city
with the support of citizens from both the Bryan-College Station and Salamanca.
The foregoing instrument is acknowledged before us,

Mientras que, en ei espiritu de amistad ybuena voluntad, las ciudades
hermanas de de Bryan-College Station, Texas y Salamanca, Guanajuato concuerdan:
1. Favorecer visitas por los ciudadanos de tres ciudades;
2. Establecer afiiiaciones entre escuelas u organizaciones de las ciudades;
3. Promover intercambios culturales en los campos de la educacion, del gobiemo, y del
negocio;
4. Desarrollar una comprensi6n mutua de los ciudadanos de todas las ciudades a travds del
intercambio de infonnacion;
5. Promover visitas oficiales entre representantes de cada comunidad. Los representantes
pueden incluir, pero no son limitados a, al gobiemo, educacion, negocio, tecnologi'a, y
funcionarios medicos.
El dxito de este esiuerzo sera la responsabilidad de las Asociaciones de Ciudades Hermanas
de cada ciudad con el apoyo de los ciudadanos de Bryan-College Station y Salamanca.
