The article is the author´s OWN, ORIGINAL and UNPUBLISHED work: that is, it is the intellectual
production of the person(s) indicated above and has not been publically disclosed to third parties
through any printed or electronic publication means.
2.
The article has not been simultaneously submitted for publication in other printed or electronic
journals or any other written means or to any other editorial body.
3.
The author(s) haven´t subscribed before any contract with a third party regarding the cession of
patrimonial rights or licenses of use related to the intellectual property rights they hold over the
submitted article that would prevent them from ceding those rights through this act.
4.
In case of collective authorship, in relation to the recognition of participation levels assigned by the
authors, they release the Journal from any liabilities.

In case of collective authorship (as specified in item 4), all authors have read and approved the
submitted manuscript. With this understanding, the authors hereby appoint:
as the author in charge of receiving correspondence and having the authority to represent the other
authors, on his/her capacity as the authorized agent.

The author(s) agree(s) that this Journal does not necessarily endorse the statements expressed in the
article.
7.
All data in text citations and their respective references are properly sourced and credited.
8.
The author(s) provide(s) written authorizations or permits from those who own the rights for use of
tables and figures (illustrations, photographs, drawings, maps, diagrams, or other).
9.
In case the submitted article is accepted for publication, the author(s) FREELY, COSTLESS, EXCLUSIVELY
AND FOR AN INDEFINITE TERM transfer copyrights and patrimonial rights to Universidad Nacional
(Costa Rica), for the following:
a. Graphics editing and proofreading of the entire paper or part of it.
b. The publication and reproduction of the entire paper or part of it, both in printed and electronic
formats, including Internet and any other technology known or to be known.
c. The translation of the work or part of it into any language or dialect.
d. The adaptation of the article to reading, sound, voice recognition formats and any representation
or technical device available, which enables partial or complete access for the blind or persons
with any other disabilities that prevent their access to the conventional reading of the article.
e. The distribution and availability of the article to the public, in order to access it from the time and
place chosen by readers, through the physical or electronic devises at the person´s disposal.
f. The distribution of the paper under Creative Commons Licence 3.0, which implies the possibility
that readers might download, save, copy and distribute a final version, approved and published
(post print), of the article for free, as long as it is done with a non commercial purpose, won´t
generate derivative work and clearly states both source and the articles authorship.

g. Any other use, process, or system known or to be known that relates to the editorial purposes and
activities linked to the Journal.
10. REUTILIZATION RIGHTS: The author(s) also accept that the UNA concedes them the authorization to
use, for any purpose and to publish in the Internet in any electronic site, the article´s final version,
both approved and published (post print), as long as it is done with a non commercial purpose.
11. The author(s) agree(s) that the submitted paper be adjusted, with their collaboration, by the
Journal editing staff to the format stipulated in the “Instructions to authors” previously established
and published in the Journal´s official website (www.una.ac.cr/educare or www.revistas.una.ac.cr/
educare), in terms of procedures, formatting, proofreading, editing, translation, publication, duration
of the editorial process and other requirements called for in these standards.
12. Regarding Law No. 8968: Protection of individuals against the processing of their personal data, the
author(s) agree(s) to give the Journal a contact email and personal data necessary to identify properly
the authorship(s) of the article:
They also authorize the Journal to publish, along with his/her/their article, the personal data
necessary, so that the readers can identify the authorship of the paper properly, those being: full
name, name of the institution from which the article is submitted, city and country, e-mail, ORCID
number. Any other personal data, different from those above mentioned, will be protected and
treated with full confidentiality by the Journal and will not be published or transferred to others
without authorization.
13. Author(s) agree(s) that the application and possible publication of the article in the Educare Electronic
Journal is governed by the editorial policies of the Journal, the institutional rules of Universidad
Nacional and the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica. In addition, in case of any possible difference
of opinion or future dispute, it shall be settled in accordance with the mechanisms of Alternative
Dispute Resolution and the Costa Rican Jurisdiction.
