Bienvenidos a OBRACADOBRA
You have arrived at the beautiful city of Oaxaca and are about to embark on your art project. We
have found that this city offers great inspiration and plenty of resources to help you along. Below
please find a list of some locations that we think will be of help to artists. Please feel free to email
us at [email protected] during your stay and ask us questions along the way. Obracadobra is
a very do-it-yourself residency experience, but depending on your medium you may need outside
help, and we (Amanda and Jean the art residency coordinators) or Amado Bolanos the manager
of the Casa Colonial, can put you in touch with local artisans if you desire. Also, we have begun
a collection of used art materials from former residents that you are welcome to use, and if you
want to leave any behind please do so. You will find these materials in a wooden crate in the studio.
The following is a sampling of some of the museums, stores and sites of interest for contemporary
