QUESTION TAGS
1. ¿QUÉ SON?
-Preguntas cortas que colocamos al final de una frase.
2. ¿CÓMO SE TRADUCEN? - Se traducen por : ¿ VERDAD? o ¿NO?
3. ¿PARA QUÉ SIRVEN? - Para saber si el interlocutor está de acuerdo o no con lo
que decimos.
Ej : This weather is horrible, isn't it? - Este tiempo es horrible, ¿verdad?
FORMACIÓN:
1 – Frase afirmativa → Question tag negativa
Ej : It's cold, isn't it? - Hace frío, ¿verdad?
2 – Frase negativa → Question tag afirmativa
Ej : It isn't cold, is it? - No hace frío, ¿ verdad?
3 – Con el verbo “ To be” se usa el propio verbo, pero con los demás verbos se
usa el auxiliar que corresponda ( do / did / have / can / … )
Ejs : They like football, don't they? - Les gusta el fútbol, ¿verdad?
They don't like football, do they? - No les gusta el fútbol, ¿verdad?
Mary likes skiing, doesn't she? - A Mary le gusta esquiar, ¿no?
Mary doesn't like skiing, does she? - A Mary no le gusta esquiar, ¿ verdad?
She can't sing, can she? - Ella no sabe cantar, ¿ no?
4 – EXCEPCIONES: Con la 1ª persona del singular “ I “ la question tag es
siempre “ aren’t I?”
Ej : I am good, aren't I? - Soy bueno, ¿verdad?
