Dear Parents and Guardians,
Bullying of any kind is wrong – physical, verbal, online or off, before, during or after school – it is never
acceptable. While we always encourage students and parents to report any bullying concerns to the Main Office
immediately, we understand that sometimes an anonymous option is necessary. To help in our prevention efforts,
Diamond Lake School is implementing a SPEAKOUT Hotline, through the SchoolReach® CyberBully
HotlineTM. The purpose of this program is to create an anonymous, two-way means for students, parents, guardians
and others to report incidents of bullying and information on potential harmful or hurtful acts by others.

How it works.
• The SPEAKOUT Hotline can receive voice calls and text messages. To send a voice call, simply dial the
number and, after the short greeting, leave your message. For text, just send a text message to the number.
The service is operational 24/7/365.
Who receives the messages?
• The Building Principal will receive the message directly. No one else can read or see the messages.
Is the system anonymous?
• Yes. The caller ID of the sender is replaced with a “sender ID” that is used for message delivery and
reporting only. No names or other information are associated with the received messages. The
SPEAKOUT Hotline gives us the ability to reply to and have two-way anonymous text message
conversations.
• We do not have the ability to reply to all voice messages, just those left from a mobile device. So if you
want a reply to a voice message, please call from a mobile or cellular device. Replies come as a text
message.
What information should be sent?
• Since the service is anonymous, we don’t know who is sending the message/tip. The more information we
are given, the more help we can provide. Users are encouraged to provide as much information as possible
or as much as they feel comfortable providing. We can reply to messages and have an anonymous
conversation with the sender. We may ask for more information as necessary.
• If a SPEAKOUT Hotline user is providing a tip on violence or harmful acts that are being planned by
others, we ask that he or she provide as much specific information as possible, immediately, so we can
ensure the safety of all students and faculty.
• Anyone who would like to leave a call back number, or his or her identity, is encouraged to do so.
Student safety is a high priority at Diamond Lake School, and the SPEAKOUT Hotline is a way to help ensure
that bullying is reported and addressed in a timely manner. We will be holding a student kickoff next week to
introduce this resource to students. If you have any questions or would like additional information, please contact

Estimados Padres y/o Guardianes,
La intimidación de cualquier tipo es mala - física, verbal, en línea o fuera, antes, durante o después de la escuela - nunca
es aceptable. Mientras que siempre alentamos a los estudiantes y padres de familia a reportar de inmediato cualquier
preocupación de intimidación a la oficina del Principal, tambien entendemos que a veces es necesario hacerlo de manera
anónima. Para ayudar en nuestros esfuerzos de prevención, Diamond Lake School está implementando una Hotline
Speakout, a través de SchoolReach® Cyberbully HotlineTM. El propósito de este programa es la creación de un medio
anónimo, bi-direccional para que los estudiantes, padres, tutores y otras personas puedan denunciar los incidentes de
acoso y/o reportar información sobre posibles actos perjudiciales o dañinos por otros.

Cómo funciona.
• La Línea Directa Speakout puede recibir llamadas de voz y mensajes de texto. Para enviar una llamada de voz, sólo
tiene que marcar el número y, después de el breve saludo, deje su mensaje. Para el texto, basta con enviar un mensaje de
texto al número. El servicio funciona 24/7/365.
¿Quién recibe los mensajes?
• El director de la escuela recibirá el mensaje directamente. Nadie más puede leer o ver los mensajes.
¿El sistema es anónimo?
• Sí. El identificador de llamadas del remitente se sustituye por un "ID del remitente" que se utiliza para la entrega de
mensajes y notificación solamente. No hay nombres u otra información asociada con los mensajes recibidos. La Línea
Directa Speakout nos da la capacidad de responder y tener conversaciones bi-direccionales de mensajes de texto en
forma anónima.
• No tenemos la capacidad para responder a todos los mensajes de voz, sólo los que han usado un dispositivo
móvil/celular. Así que si quiere una respuesta a un mensaje de voz, llame desde un dispositivo móvil o celular. Las
respuestas vienen como un mensaje de texto.
¿Qué información se debe enviar?
• Dado que el servicio es anónimo, no sabemos quién está enviando el mensaje o el tip. Cuanta más información se nos
da, más ayuda se puede proporcionar. Se anima a los usuarios a proporcionar tanta información como sea posible o tanto
como se sientan cómodos de compartir . Podemos responder a los mensajes de voz o de texto y tener una conversación
anónima con el remitente. Podemos pedir más información si es necesario.
• Si un usuario de la Línea Directa Speakout nos está proporcionando información sobre violencia o actos dañinos que
están siendo planificados por otros, le pedimos que él o ella proporcione información tan específica como sea posible y
de inmediato, para que podamos garantizar la seguridad de todos los estudiantes y profesores.
• Cualquier persona que desee, puede dejar un número para regresar la llamada, o dar su identidad, se le anima a hacerlo.
La seguridad del estudiante es una alta prioridad en la Diamond Lake School, y la Linea Directa Speakout es una
manera de ayudar a garantizar que la intimidación u acoso sea reportado y sea manejado de manera oportuna.
