We Have Found The Christ ~ Come and See
“If something should rightly disturb us and trouble our consciences, it is the fact that so many of our brothers and sisters
are living without the strength, light and consolation born of friendship with Jesus Christ, without a community of faith
to support them, without meaning and a goal in life.” Pope Francis.
The great commission tells us to “go and make disciples” (Mt 28:19) But how do we do that? First we need to strengthen
the parish community and instill a missionary spirit in each one of us. God had one Son and he was a missionary; and as
always we must strive to be like Jesus. With that heart of a missionary we need to invite those who have stepped away
from the Catholic Church to “Come and See!”
In order to strengthen our community I would like to challenge you to participate in a campaign titled “Come and See!”
This campaign reflects the dream of the Church for a New Evangelization. This campaign has two primary objectives:
1. To inflame the hearts of the faithful who regularly take part in community worship and gather on the Lord’s Day
to be nourished by his word and by the bread of eternal life.
2. To reach “the baptized whose lives do not reflect the demands of Baptism” (Pope Francis) who lack a meaningful
relationship to Christ and His Church and no longer experience the consolation born of faith.
As we move into Lent you will see; inserts in the bulletin, posters, invitation cards and bulletin boards advertising this
campaign. The campaign’s goal is to lead all people to rediscover, or discover more deeply, the beauty and splendor of
the Catholic Church. The multi-week campaign will provide you the opportunity to personally invite either an inactive
Catholic, or a non-Catholic, family member or friend to, “Come and See!” the splendor and symphony of the Catholic
Church, and by extension, the oneness of Christ and His Church. We want to encourage you to invite one or more
individuals to accompany you to our “Come and See!” event on Friday May, 2, 2014.
This event is not a program, nor is it a teaching or preaching exercise. It is a beautiful ninety minute presentation with
the intent of providing an experience. The presentation includes; an inviting video message from Bishop Cary and an
extended excerpt from Fr. Barron’s “Catholicism” DVD series. It will conclude with a friendly invitation to participate in
a six-week follow-up series where individuals are afforded the opportunity to learn more about the Church, have an
opportunity to ask questions and receive authentic answers.
Nathanael was a man who was “under the fig tree”, or at peace with his life. His friend Philip found him and told him,
“We have found the one about whom Moses wrote in the law, and also the prophets, Jesus son of Joseph, from
Nazareth. But Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come from Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and See”
Let us go and invite our neighbors, friends, relatives and coworkers, as Philip invited Nathanael, “Come and See!”

Hemos encontrado al Cristo ~ Ven a Ver
"Si hay algo que con razón nos debe molestar y sin problemas nuestras conciencias, es el hecho de que tantos de
nuestros hermanos y hermanas están viviendo sin la fuerza, luz y consuelo que nace de la amistad con Jesucristo, y sin
una comunidad de fe para apoyarlos, sin significado y un objetivo en la vida. " Papa Francis.
La Gran Comisión nos dice que "ir y hacer discípulos" (Mt 28:19) ¿Pero cómo hacemos eso? En primer lugar tenemos
que fortalecer la comunidad parroquial e inculcar un espíritu misionero en cada uno de nosotros. Dios tenía un hijo y él
era un misionero, y como siempre hay que esforzarse por ser como Jesús. Con ese corazón de un misionero que
tenemos que invitar a aquellos que han dado un paso fuera de la Iglesia Católica a "Ven y verás"
1. Con el fin de fortalecer nuestra comunidad me gustaría desafiar a participar en una campaña titulada "Vengan y
vean" Esta campaña refleja el sueño de la Iglesia para una Nueva Evangelización. Esta campaña tiene dos
objetivos principales:
Para inflamar los corazones de los fieles que participan habitualmente en el culto de la comunidad y se reúnen
en el día del Señor para nutrirse de su palabra y por el pan de la vida eterna.
2. Para llegar a "los bautizados, cuyas vidas no reflejan las exigencias del bautismo" (Papa Francis) que carecen de
una relación significativa a Cristo ya su Iglesia, y ya no experimentar el consuelo que nace de la fe.
A medida que avanzamos en la Cuaresma verá; insertos en el boletín, afiches, tarjetas de invitación y tablones de
anuncios de publicidad de esta campaña. El objetivo de la campaña es llevar a todas las personas a redescubrir, o
descubrir más profundamente, la belleza y el esplendor de la Iglesia Católica. La campaña de varias semanas le
proporcionará la oportunidad de invitar personalmente a cualquiera de un católico inactivo, o un no católico, miembro
de la familia oa un amigo que, "Ven y verás!" El esplendor y la sinfonía de la Iglesia Católica, y por extensión, la unicidad
de Cristo y de su Iglesia. Queremos animaros a invitar a una o más personas para que lo acompañe a nuestro evento
"Ven y verás" En Domingo, 27 de abril 2014.
Este evento no es un programa, ni es una enseñanza o la predicación de ejercicios. Es una bella presentación noventa
minutos con la intención de proporcionar una experiencia. La presentación incluye, un mensaje de video de invitación
del Obispo Cary y un extracto extendido del Padre. DVD de la serie "catolicismo" de Barron. Se concluirá con una
amistosa invitación a participar en una serie de seis semanas de seguimiento en donde los individuos tienen la
oportunidad de aprender más sobre la Iglesia, tienen la oportunidad de hacer preguntas y recibir respuestas auténticas.
Nathanael era un hombre que estaba "debajo de la higuera", o en paz con su vida. Su amigo Felipe lo encontró y le dijo:
"Hemos hallado a aquel de quien escribió Moisés en la ley, y también los profetas, Jesús, hijo de José, de Nazaret. Pero
Nathanael le dijo: "¿Puede salir algo bueno de Nazaret?" Felipe le dijo: "Ven y verás"
Vayamos e invitamos a nuestros vecinos, amigos, familiares y compañeros de trabajo, ya que Felipe invitó a Nathanael:
