Nov 30, 2011 7:48 PM 2 I think its a great way to communicate with parents who work either phone or email !! ! :) Nov 29, 2011 10:14 AM 3 Nov 29, 2011 8:39 AM 4 I think it's a great way of communicating and it may be faster than both e-mail and phone calls. Nov 28, 2011 10:35 PM 6 The more ways to reach parents, the merrier. I know that I may not check my messages on my home phone daily so a text message would be good becasue I always have my cell phone available. Nov 28, 2011 4:37 PM 7 my cell phone is a communication device that is always with me and is the most convenient for alerts. Nov 28, 2011 2:38 PM 8 adding text messages is fine for me Nov 28, 2011 12:49 PM 9 For Text message alerts - quick and easy; if you miss a phone call or can't answer you will still get the message and be able to read the information at any point. Nov 28, 2011 10:39 AM 10 I think the messages are good for school grade alerts and no school reminders, but the alerts for Market Day are very annoying and unnecessary. Also messages for schools other than where my child attends for over-crowded child drop-offs should be sent home from that particular school in a form of a memo. Another thing that I detest is my phone #'s being used for political running of office purposes. No-one should be giving out our personal information and that happened a lot last year during the BI election. Nov 28, 2011 10:32 AM 11 On my phone I don't have texting. Nov 28, 2011 9:45 AM 12 Would like this for more critical alerts versus informational notifications. Nov 26, 2011 8:43 PM 13 Estoy de acuerdo en los mensajes de texto. Nov 26, 2011 8:43 PM 14 totalmente de acuerdo Nov 26, 2011 2:37 PM 15 I am all for it. I think it is a great way to be informed in this TECHNOLOGICAL ERA most if not everyone uses text messages nowdays. Nov 25, 2011 5:36 PM 16 I'm all about texting because I can send and receive them for free. Just make sure that if a parent decides that they do want texts, make sure to tell them that if they don't have a plan it can cost money. Nov 25, 2011 6:58 AM 4 of 6 Q5. Everyone usually looks at their text messages more regularly than voice mails or e-mails. Nov 24, 2011 9:51 AM 20 esta muy vien por q donde quiera q andemos estaremos comunicados Nov 24, 2011 9:45 AM 21 I think your doing a great job keeping the parents up to date... Nov 24, 2011 7:27 AM 22 estoy de acuedo en que nos envien los mensajes Nov 23, 2011 10:24 PM 23 Great idea. Anything that can keep us the parents informed about the progress and involvement about our children is great news. Nov 23, 2011 6:14 PM 24 Text messaging would be helpful in the event I dont get to my phone before the machine/voicemail picks up & I only get 1/2 the message Nov 23, 2011 5:24 PM 25 nunca he recivido un mensaje en español... me preocupa que los padres que no hablan ingles no entiendan los mensajes... I have never recieved a message in Spanish (I speak Spanish)... It worries me that parents who don't speak English are not able to understand the messages.. Nov 23, 2011 10:21 AM 26 I appreciate the communication in all forms and appreciate that the district is embracing diverse technology! Nov 23, 2011 9:34 AM 27 No added thoughts at this time Nov 23, 2011 9:15 AM 28 It's a quicker way of communication. I think some parents will be against it only because they aren't too familiar with the technology or don't have the text service on their phone. Nov 23, 2011 8:51 AM 29 I think the text messages would be an alternative method for those parents who do not have access to the internet. Nov 23, 2011 8:32 AM 30 Text messages are "the thing" but just adds to one more piece of information that school has to send out; everyone has a phone/email . . notification by those means should be sufficient. Nov 23, 2011 8:29 AM 31 I beleive the more channels ofcommunication the better. Texting is a quick reminder and would be another channel to use just in case someone's e-mail is down. Nov 23, 2011 6:10 AM 32 I think text messaging would be a great idea. At times it is hard to answer the phone. A quick text message would be great! Nov 22, 2011 9:06 PM 33 I just us email cheeper a lot of people don't have free text Nov 22, 2011 9:02 PM 34 This idea is great. Depending on the time of day I might not be near a computer Nov 22, 2011 8:21 PM 5 of 6 Q5. I think it is a wonderful idea. Nov 22, 2011 8:16 PM 36 Text messages are good because sometimes we can't always answer the phone at work, but can read text messages. Nov 22, 2011 8:05 PM 37 I feel any and all information recieved through the technology offered to us now should be used to it's full benefit within the school code for the parents to be well informed about everyting that is about our children, scholl teachers, and district. Nov 22, 2011 7:46 PM 38 When at work I try and check for texts on my break. If there was an important announcement that would be another way for me to get it. I am VERY happy to have the Connect ED. Nov 22, 2011 7:34 PM 39 estaria bien ya que muchos padres de familia trabajan,de esta manera estarian mas informados y no tendrian que dejar de trabajar por contestar el telefono y para record tambien. Nov 22, 2011 7:29 PM 40 I think that the text messaging would work out better than e-mail and phone calling because as a working parent I have a better way of recieving text messages than answering a call at work or looking up an email when I get home. Nov 22, 2011 6:59 PM 41 Hola! Bueno para mi es muy importante estar notificado de lo que susede ó susederá en la escuela de mi hijo, y gracias a su sistema he estado al tanto de sus notificaciónes, espero sigan asi, Gracias de nuevo. Nov 22, 2011 6:58 PM 42 With having children, between sports and after school activities, and the chaos of a normal day, reading a text message would be so much easier, then sometimes having to replay the message a couple of times in order to hear it completely. Nov 22, 2011 6:41 PM 43 The Disrtict is doing a great job at communicating with the Parents. Thanks Nov 22, 2011 6:35 PM 6 of 6
