THE KISS THAT TOOK A TRIP “ELECTROFOREST”

Tras este bonito nombre se esconde el proyecto que el madrileño M.D. Trello comenzó hace ya casi una década. Un hombre con tan buenos gustos musicales como para tener entre sus favoritos a Steve
Albini, Brian Eno, Trent Reznor, Barry Adamson, Angelo Badalamenti, Firends Of Dean Martinez o Godspeed You! Black Emperor. No son pistas demasiado identificables como para hacerte una idea de lo
que puedes encontrarte en este “Electroforest”. Un disco con vocación minoritaria pero con unos cuantos fans incorregibles que seguro que se harán rápidamente con la edición limitada de 500 copias.
Tiene una bonita y coqueta presentación en triple digipack verde y también está estructurado en tres partes diferenciadas a modo conceptual. Trello se encarga de todas las voces, los PCs y los samples,
además de las guitarras. Guitarras de corte rock que destacan en “Tidy up your pig” o más ruidosas aún en “Jackie O Lantern”. Me gusta mucho “Vanilla killer”, hermosa y etérea con una cálida voz y
buenos samples de piano. “Electroforest: Detour” abre la segunda parte del trabajo con tonos sepias, románticos y melancólicos. En “Jammed drainpipe blues” tiene algo del Mike Oldfield más clásico e
instrumental y en “Flower of gas and smoke” tenemos la única colaboración ajena (excepto algunos samples declarados) con la narración de Robert Oppenheimer. También tiene intensos momentos
instrumentales. Ya hacia el final nos vuelve a llamar la atención con “Amplification of the senses”, un emocionante y hermoso tema con melancólica y muy orgánica folktrónica apoyada en acústicas y
pianos. (7)
