Los últimos veinte años, Bruni Burres ha
trabajado como curadora, productora y consejera
en la confluencia entre los derechos, las artes
humanas y la cultura. Actualmente es consejera
Senior del Programa Documental del Instituto
Sundance y la Fundación World Cinema, experta
mentora en los medios de comunicación con
efecto invernadero Film Centre y consultora de
productoras de cine y medios de comunicación
independientes. Desde 1991 hasta 2008 fue
la directora del Festival de Cine de Human
Rights Watch, que también cofundó. En 2011, en
colaboración con el Centro Internacional para la
Justicia Transicional, produjo el documental La
Toma (The Siege), que explora el impacto cultural
y político duradero de la toma del Palacio de
Justicia de Colombia, que tuvo lugar en 1985.
Es miembro de la junta directiva del Centro de
Video Educativo y Films de trabajo. Cursó la
licenciatura en Estudios de América del Barnard
College (Universidad de Columbia) y una maestría
en estudios profesionales desde el Interactive
Telecommunications Program en la Tisch School
of the Arts (Universidad de Nueva York).

The last 20 years Bruni has worked as curator,
producer and consultant in the confluence of
the human rights, arts, and culture. She is now a
Senior Consultant at the Documentary Program
of the Sundance Institute and the World Cinema
Foundation. She is an expert mentor in the
Communication Media with Green House effect
Film Centre, and consultant for independent
film and media production centers. From 1991
to 2008 she was Director of the Human Rights
Watch Film Festival, which she also co-founded.
In 2011, with the “Centro Internacional para
la Justicia Transicional”, she produced the
documentary La Toma (The Siege), which explores
the cultural and political impact that remains
after the 1985 siege of the Palacio de Justicia
in Colombia. She is a member of the board at
the Educational Video Center and Films. She
graduated on American Studies at the Barnard
College, University of Columbia, and did a Master
Degree on Professional Studies Interactive
Telecommunications Program at the Tisch School
of the Arts (New York University).
