This week we will be holding Night of Reflection on Wednesday,
June 8th. Night of Reflection is a beautiful time to come
together to celebrate our students’ achievements and progress
in Art Class this year. As usual, this is a mandatory event.
Just as we will be reflecting on our students’ progress in Art this
week, we will also be reflecting on their academic progress
when you pick up your final report card. This is a great time to ask your teacher how you can best support your
child at home this summer so that he or she does not fall victim to Summer Slide and lose growth over the
summer

Second Annual Book Fair June 6th-June 9th
We are excited to announce that we will be holding our second annual Scholastic Book Fair from June 6th to June 9th! This will
be a great chance for families to buy books for the summer and support KIPP Comienza! We will need parent volunteers to
help run the book fair. If you are interested, please reach out to Ms. Sanchez.
Night of Reflection & Door Decorating Contest on June 8th
We be holding a door decorating contest during Night of Reflection, with the theme
“What It Means to Be an Artist.” If you would like to help with the door decoration,
please reach out to your classroom representative! Awards will be given to the Most
Unique, Best Craftsmanship, and Most Thought Provoking classes. To be eligible your
entire door should be covered and the decorations should align with the theme.
Cookie & Juice Donations for Night of Reflection
Night of Reflection, the annual art show, is around the corner! Please help us by
bringing cookie and juice donations to your classroom by June 8. If you have any
questions or would like to volunteer during Night of Reflection, please contact Ms.
Moreno ([email protected]). Report Card Pick Up on June 9th-June 13th
From June 9th-13th, you will have an opportunity to pick up your student’s final report
card of the year. There was an error in last week’s newsletter, and we will not be holding
parent conferences for all students during this time, but feel free to reach out to your
child’s teacher to check in about their progress.
Minimum Days on June 9th, 10th, and 13th
On these days, students at our Seville site will be dismissed at 1:00pm and students at
our Rita site will be dismissed at 1:10pm all week. Please ensure that you pick your child up on time on these days.
Career Day on June 10th
On Friday, June 10, from 8:00-9:00am, we will be hosting our Career Day, for family and community members to teach our
students about their day-to-day work and the opportunities that will be open to our our rising leaders in the future. If you or
someone you know would be interested in doing a short presentation for each classroom in your grade level, please reach out
to Ms. Kennedy or your classroom representative as soon as possible.
Rising Ceremonies and Celebrations June 16th & June 17th
Each year we take time to celebrate our students’ achievements by holding a Rising Celebration for each grade level, and we
will hold Rising Ceremonies for Kindergarteners and fourth graders.
• Our Kindergarten through third grade Rising Ceremony and Celebration will take place at KIPP Comienza on Friday, June
17th.
• First, second, and third grade celebrations will begin at 8:00am, and the Kindergarten Rising Ceremony will begin at
8:30am. Please reach out to your classroom representative about how you can help out with the classroom celebration.
• For our fourth graders, we will be holding Rising Ceremony on Thursday, June 16th at 4:00pm at the Salt Lake Park
Recreation Center.

Esta semana será la celebración de la Noche de Reflexión el miércoles
8 de junio. Noche de reflexión es un hermoso tiempo de unirnos para
celebrar los logros y el progreso de nuestros estudiantes en la clase de
arte este año. Como es habitual, este es un evento obligatorio.
Del mismo modo que estaremos reflexionando sobre el progreso de
nuestros estudiantes en el arte de esta semana, también vamos a
reflexionar sobre su progreso académico al momento de recoger las
calificaciones de fin del año. Este es un buen momento para preguntarle a su profesores cómo se puede apoyar mejor a su
hijo o hija en casa este verano para que él o ella no son víctimas de la diapositiva de verano y perder el crecimiento durante
el verano.

Segunda Feria Anual de libros 6 de junio a 9 de junio
Estamos muy contentos de anunciar que vamos a celebrar nuestra segunda annual Feria de Libros Scholastic el 6 de junio a
9 de junio! Esta será una gran oportunidad para las familias para comprar libros para el verano y apoyar KIPP Comienza!
Necesitaremos padres voluntarios para ayudar a dirigir la feria del libro. Si usted está
interesado, por favor hable con Ms. Sanchez.
Noche de Reflexión y concurso de decoración de puerta 8 de junio
KIPP Comienza tendra un concurso de decoración de puerta durante la noche de reflexión, con
el tema "Lo que significa ser un artista." Si usted quiere ayudar con la decoración de la puerta,
por favor ponganse en contacto con su representante de salon! Los premios serán otorgados a
la puerta más original, mejor artesanía, y la el salon con la mayoría de pensamiento. Para ser
elegible toda su puerta debe estar cubierta y las decoraciones debe alinearse con el tema.
Donaciones para la Noche de Reflexión- Galletas y Jugos
Noche de Reflexión, la exposición de arte anual, esta la vuelta de la esquina! Por favor
ayúdenos a traer galletas y jugos de donaciones a su salon antes de junio 8. Si usted tiene
alguna pregunta o le gustaría ser voluntario durante la noche de reflexión, por favor
comunicarse con la Ms. Moreno ([email protected]).
Calificaciones de fin del Año 9 de junio a 13 de junio
A partir de junio 9th al 13 usted tendrá la oportunidad de recoger las calificaciones de fin del
año de su estudiante del año. Se produjo un error en el boletín de la semana pasada, y no vera conferencias con los padres
para todos los estudiantes durante este tiempo, pero no dude en hablar con la maestra(o) de su hijo(a) para el registro
de su progreso.

El viernes, 10 de junio de 8: 00-9: 00, estaremos realizando nuestra día de carrera para miembros de la familia y de la
comunidad para enseñar a los estudiantes sobre su trabajo del día y las oportunidades que se abrirán a nuestra líderes
emergentes en el futuro. Si usted o alguien que usted conoce este interesado en hacer una breve presentación de cada clase • 8 de Junio - Noche de Reflexión
en su nivel de grado, por favor hable con Ms. Kennedy o su representante de salon tan pronto como sea posible.
• 9-15 de junio -Recoge calificaciones
“Rising Ceremony” y celebraciones del 16 de junio y 17 de junio
Cada año nos tomamos el tiempo para celebrar los logros de nuestros estudiantes mediante la celebración de “Rising
Ceremony” para cada grado, y llevaremos a cabo una “Rising Ceremony” para los estudiantes de kinder y cuarto grado.
• Los estudiantes de kinder a 3er grado tendrán “Rising Ceremony” y celebración en KIPP Comienza el viernes 17 de junio.
• Celebraciones de primero, segundo, y tercer grado comenzarán a las 8:00 am, y la Rising Ceremony de Kinder comenzarán
a las 8:30 de la mañana. Ponganse en contacto con su representante de salon acerca de cómo puede ayudar con la
celebración de salon.
• Para nuestros estudiantes de cuarto grado, vamos a celebrar el Rising Ceremony el jueves 16 de junio a las 4:00 pm en el
Salt Lake Park Recreation Center.
