INTRODUCTION
This support pack contains exemplification of the tasks required of students preparing
for the Intermediate 2, 40 hour option, Personal Communication.
Centres will no doubt have similar material which will prove equally useful.
The material might be used as part of an induction element early in the Higher course,
particularly if there are candidates who may eventually not be able to succeed at
Higher. Gathering assessment for the Personal Communication option early in the
session may help make the transition to Intermediate 2, if it becomes necessary, more
manageable.

¿Qué hay, Alison?
Ya sé que a ti te compraron un ordenador hace mucho tiempo. Hoy es mi cumpleaños
y ya ves..... ¡Te mando mi primer mensaje por correo electrónico! ¡Qué ilusión! Nos
podemos escribir muy a menudo.
Te mando también un artículo que leí el otro día que me preocupa bastante. Aquí en
España la gente compra los perros de raza porque están de moda. ¿Pasa lo mismo en
Escocia?
A pesar del calor que hace en verano, la gente sigue comprando perros grandes y
peludos sin pensar en las consecuencias para los pobres animales. ¿Qué tipo de perros
tenéis en Escocia? ¿El clima es adecuado para ellos? Y las casas,¿son adecuadas?
Mis padres no me dejan tener un perro porque vivimos en un piso. La única mascota
que tengo es un canario porque lo podremos dejar con mi abuela cuando nos vayamos
de vacaciones. ¿Qué mascotas tienes? Mi canario se llama Rex y tiene 6 años. ¿Las
tenéis desde hace mucho tiempo?

pasada y te lo mando para decirte como es mi ciudad.
Me gustaría saber cómo es tu pueblo. ¿Es grande? ¿Cuántos habitantes tiene? Si voy
a visitarte, ¿qué podemos hacer para divertirnos?
Aquí en Madrid hay muchos cines. ¿Hay algún cine en tu pueblo? ¿Hay discotecas?
¿Qué tipo de tiendas hay? En Madrid hay muchos grandes almacenes y también
boutiques. ¿Tú, qué prefieres?
A mí me gusta mucho vivir en Madrid porque es una ciudad muy grande donde
puedes hacer muchas cosas. ¿Tú, dónde prefieres vivir? ¿En una ciudad o en un
pueblo? ¿por qué?
Espero que algún día puedas venir a visitarme a Madrid.
