Jaider Parra is already in Japan
On Monday arrived in Tokyo, Japan, the Venezuelan Jaider Parra, (20-0-1/10 KO’s of 30 years
of age) tenth-ranked of the World Boxing Association super featherweight division, and
Challenger to the so far undefeated Japanese champion Takashi Uchiyama (19-0-1/16 KO's of
33 years of age and member of Watanabe Boxing Gym in Tokyo).
The bout will take place on May 6 in Ota City General Gymnasium, where there will be another
fight for the WBA super flyweight title, between the regular champion, Japanese Kohei Kono
(28-7/11KOs, of 32 years of age from Watanabe Boxing Gym) and the Venezuelan interim
champion Liborio Solís (14-3-1/7KOs of 31 years of age) to define the absolute WBA champion.
Jaider Parra took more than twenty hours to arrive to Narita, Japan, coming from their homeland
Venezuela. Arriving to the country of the rising sun, Parra confessed us to be tired by the long
journey, but that his combative spirit is not diminish at all, said with a confident smile. Also said
he met his physical preparations to 100 percent to do something big in Japan.
Here in Japan, far from home, Jaider Parra intends to honor his worthy undefeated Venezuelan
warrior caste to overthrow from his throne the powerful Japanese Takashi Uchiyama, who will
make the seventh defense of his universal Crown and who recently showed his punching power
to the Costa Rican interim world champion Bryan "tiquito" Vasquez, undefeated until then, by
TKO in the eighth round in Tokyo on Christmas eve of 2012.
Let's see if the Venezuelan Jaider Parra is able to defeat Takashi Uchiyama for the first time,
whose nickname is "KO Dynamite" with a cold blood boxing as if he were a fighting computer to
measure distance and the exact moment to finish his opponent.
Takashi Uchiyama is a keen boxer to decipher his opponents.
Jaider Parra is at war with high moreale to accomplish his mission to make history in
Venezuelan boxing with a huge desire of grow in his career.
Should this Venezuelan defeat Uchiyama to become the new champion, it will be the first time in
the glorious Venezuelan history.
Jaider Parra is the brother of the former flyweight world champion Lorenzo Parra, who fought in
Japan four times, all of them for the WBA title.
When we look at Japanese boxing history we recall the brothers Pedro and Antonio Gómez.
Pedro Gómez and Antonio Gómez both fought in Japan for the WBA featherweight title with the
Japanese Shozo Saijyo, who defeaed Pedro Gómez by decision in Tokyo in 1969 in his first title
defense, but he was dethroned in 1971 by Antonio Gómez by KO in 5 in his sixth defense failed
attempt.
Antonio, younger than Pedro, manages to avenge his brother and become world champion.

Jaider Parra ya está instalado en Japón
El pasado lunes arribó a Tokio, Japón, el venezolano Jaider Parra, (20-0-1/10KOs, de 30 años
de edad) decimo clasificado de la división súper pluma de la Asociación Mundial de Boxeo, y
retador del hasta ahora imbatido campeón japonés Takashi Uchiyama (19-0-1/16KOs, de 33
años de edad y de Watanabe Boxing Gym de Tokio).
La pelea tendrá lugar el próximo 6 de mayo en Ota City General Gymnasium, en donde habrá
otro duelo por título mundial de la AMB, de peso súper mosca, entre el campeón regular, el
japonés Kohei Kono (28-7/11KOs, de 32 años de edad y de Watanabe Boxing Gym) y el
venezolano campeón interino Liborio Solís (14-3-1/7KOs, de 31 años de edad) para definir el
monarca súper mosa absoluto de la AMB.
Jaider Parra tardó más de veinte horas en llegar al aeropuerto de Narita, Japón, procedente de
su patria Venezuela. Al arribar al país del Sol Naciente, Parra nos confesó estar cansado por el
largo viaje, pero eso no disminuye su espíritu combativo y subraya con cara sonriente de
confianza que logro cumplir sus preparaciones físicas al cien por ciento para realizar algo
grande en Japón.
Aquí en Japón, muy lejos de su patria, Jaider Parra se propone con su carácter ferviente a
casta de un invicto digno batallador venezolano para derribar del trono al poderoso nipón
Takashi Uchiyama, quien va a hacer la séptima defensa de su corona universal y que en su
pelea más reciente, hizo gala de demostrar su poder noqueador al acabar con el costarricense
hasta entonces invicto campeón mundial interino Bryan "Tiquito" Vásquez por KOT en el octavo
round por la sexta defensa de su título y por el unificatorio en Tokio en Noche Vieja del 2012.
Vamos a ver si el venezolano Jaider Parra es capaz de propinar primera derrota al japonés
Takashi Uchiyama, cuyo sobrenombre es "Dinamita de KO" con un boxeo a sangre fría como si
fuera una maquina computadora de combate en el ring con sabiduría de medir distancia y a la
hora de la verdad sabe hundir puntilla.
Takashi Uchiyama es un boxeador dotado de chispa para descifrar el boxeo de su rival.
Jaider Parra se encuentra en pie de guerra con la moral muy en alto para cumplir su misión de
hacer la historia en el boxeo venezolano con el deseo de perfeccionamiento en su profesión.
Sí este venezolano vence a Uchiyama para convertirse en nuevo monarca universal, va a ser el
primer caso con gloria de hermanos campeones mundiales en la cronología del pugilismo de
Venezuela.
Jaider Parra es el hermano menor del ex campeón mundial mosca Lorenzo Parra, quien

combatió un total de cuatro veces en Japón, todas veces por diadema mundial de la AMB.
Cuando recorremos la historia del boxeo japonés, recordamos el caso de los venezolanos
hermanos Pedro y Antonio Gómez.
Pedro Gómez y Antonio Gómez pelearon en Japón por título mundial pluma de la AMB, ambos
como retador al mismo japonés Shozo Saijyo, quien ganó a Pedro Gómez por decisión en
Tokio en 1969 en la primera defensa de su título y en 1971 en Tokio fue destronado como
campeón mundial por Antonio Gómez por KO en el quinto round fracasando en la sexta
defensa titular.
Antonio, hermano menor de Pedro, logró vengarse de su hermano mayor y de paso se coronó
campeón mundial.
Finalmente Pedro Gómez y Antonio Gómez no pudieron convertirse en los primeros hermanos
campeones mundiales de Venezuela.
