Unidad 1 “Mi identidad”
Throughout this chapter I am reviewing skills that will equip me to do the following:
£ Write and talk about myself, my identify (what matters to me, what I’m interested
in, who I am, etc.)
£ Create a collage with my personal vocabulary list that I will present to the class
£ Learn about my classmates and Profa Lewis
£ Use & review a variety of basic grammar structures (e.g. gender of nouns;
adjective agreement; present tense verbs—regular & irregular; reflexives; ser vs.
estar; possessive adjectives; question words; present and past progressive;
negation)
£ Review basic vocabulary & questions that I will use on a daily basis in class
£ Talk and write about my pastimes / activities and how often I do certain activities
(with a specific emphasis on regular present tense verb conjugations)
£ Learn who Juanes is and his popular song “La camisa negra”
£ Read a letter that Profa wrote and be able to answer comprehension questions
£ Learn about Mexico’s Independence Day celebration and practice my own
version of the popular “grito”
£ Learn the legend behind the Mexican flag and then create my own flag with a
symbol that represents me
£ Speak Spanish to the best of my ability whenever I can both in formal and
informal situations
