Estudió dirección cinematográfica en la Escuela
Superior de Cine y Audiovisuales de Cataluña
y se especializó en documental en el Centro
de Capacitación Cinematográfica de México.
Dirigió y produjo varios documentales, y también
escribió varios guiones. Family Tour es su primer
largometraje de ficción.

in México. She directed and produced several
documentaries and also wrote several
screenplays. Family Tour is her first feature film.
Se ha dicho que más que una película fue una “terapia” de la directora Liliana Torres plasmada en éste,
su primer largometraje. Sus hermanos, tíos, primos y abuelos se interpretan a sí mismos, siendo ella
misma el único personaje que está representado por una actriz, Nuria Gago. La protagonista –llamada
Liliana, naturalmente– llega de vacaciones a casa de sus padres y a la comarca barcelonesa de Vic, luego
de haber pasado varios años en México. Su madre la llevará, casi a regañadientes, de recorrido a visitar a
su extensa familia. En este retornar a sus raíces, la protagonista explorará sus propias frustraciones y las
personas y sucesos que marcaron su vida, y que determinaron su personalidad. Intimista y original, con
mucha gracia y autenticidad, la película está repleta de momentos hilarantes, pero sin dejar de lado cierto
tono dramático: Liliana quisiera evitar a esa familia problemática, de la que hoy se siente tan diferente y
distante. Con un equipo técnico casi íntegramente conformado por mujeres, se trata de una producción
realmente independiente, financiada en parte gracias a una intensa campaña de crowdfounding.
It has been said that it was more of a “therapy” than a film by director Liliana Torres, captured in this,
her first feature film. Her siblings, uncles, cousins ​​and grandparents play themselves, herself being the
only character that is portrayed by an actress -Nuria Gago-. The protagonist -named Liliana, of coursecomes on holidays to her parents’ house and the Barcelona region of Vic, after spending several years in
Mexico. Her mother will, almost reluctantly, take her to visit her large family. In this return to her roots,
the protagonist will explore her own frustrations and the people and events that shaped her life and determined her personality. Intimate and original, with lots of flair and authenticity, the film is full of hilarious
moments, but without neglecting a certain dramatic tone: Liliana would like to avoid this problematic
family, of which she now feels so different and distant. With a technical team composed almost entirely of
women, it is a truly independent production, financed in part through an intense crowdfounding campaign.
