Jesus said to his disciples:
“I have come to set the earth on fire,
and how I wish it were already blazing! …
… Do you think that I have come to establish peace on
the earth? No, I tell you, but rather division.”
Division? What does Jesus mean, when he says he
comes to establish division?
Jesus is talking about our faith. We had better be
willing to decide which side of the division we choose, and choose it with
firmness and clarity. The choice is between the reign of God or the world.
How about those who would have us work or play rather than keep the
FIRST COMMANDMENT?
I am the Lord your God. You shall not have strange gods before
me.
This would be the division between those who believe in One God and
those who either don’t believe in God, or those who are willing to accept
many divine beings? Like superstitions, like pagans? That is a real
division, right here in our community. Just look around and see the
amulets or devotion to things like “La Santa Muerte.”
How about the division and tension between those who don’t believe in
the 3rd Commandment and those who do?
Keep holy the Sabbath.
How about the division and tension between those who don’t believe in
faithfulness between men and women, and don’t believe in the 6th
Commandment?
You shall not commit adultery.
These are the ones who believe sex and fornication are OK anywhere,
anytime between consenting adults? Those who accept and socialize
with fornicators and adulterers? Or those who practice pornography? Or
those who don’t really believe in permanent commitment with partners of
the opposite sex, or in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony?
How about the division between those who say they don’t believe in the

7 Commandment,
You shall not steal….,
… and those who cannot control themselves with other people’s property,
even paperclips and paper; or those who practice cheating and even
ignore cheating, even among children in school. STOP STEALING
PAPERCLIPS! STOP CHEATING!
The division Jesus speaks of is here. We just have to chose which side
we want to be on. “Burn, baby, burn!

TWENTIETH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Jesús dijo a sus discípulos:
“He venido a hacer que la tierra arda en fuego,
Y cuanto desearía que ya estuviera ardiendo! …
… Piensas que he venido a darle paz a la tierra?
No, Yo vengo a causar división.”
Division? Que es lo que Jesús quiere decir, cuando dice que viene a
establecer división?
Jesús esta hablando acerca de nuestra fe. Más vale que sepamos con
firmeza y claridad a que lado de la división vamos a escoger. La opción es
entre el Reino de Dios o el mundo.
¿Que pasara con aquellos que nos han hecho trabajar o hacer otras
actividades en lugar de guardar el PRIMER MANDAMIENTO?
Yo soy el Señor tu Dios. No deberás tener dioses extraños
antes que a mí.
Esta seria la división entre aquellos que creen en Un solo Dios, y aquellos
que no creen en Dios, o aquellos que están dispuestos a aceptar muchos
seres divinos? ¿Cómo supersticiones, como paganos? Ese es una división
real, que tenemos aquí en nuestra comunidad. Solo mira alrededor y ve los
amuletos o devociones como “La Santa Muerte”.
¿Y qué acerca de la división y tensión entre aquellos que no creen en el
tercer mandamiento y aquellos que si creen?
Santificaras el día Sábado.
Que hay acerca de la división y tensión entre aquellos que no creen en la
fidelidad entre un hombre y una mujer y no creen en el sexto mandamiento?
No deberás cometer adulterio.
Estos son los que creen que el sexo y la fornicación esta bien donde sea, y
con quien sea, solo basta el consentimiento de los adultos? Aquellos que
aceptan y socializan con fornicarios y adúlteros? O aquellos que practican la
pornografía? O aquellos que no creen en compromisos permanentes con
personas del sexo opuesto, o no creen en el Sagrado Matrimonio?
Y que acerca de la división entre aquellas personas que no creen en el,
7o. Mandamiento
No robarás….,
… y aquellos que no pueden controlarse a si mismos con las cosas ajenas
aun con papel y clips, o aquellos que practican el engaño y aun que ignoran
el engaño, incluso entre los niños de la escuela. ¡DEJA DE ROBAR CLIPS!
DEJA DE HACER TRAMPA!
La división de la que habla Jesús esta aquí. Nosotros solo tenemos que
escoger de qué lado queremos estar. “TU ELIGES, FRIO O CALIENTE!”

Necesitamos mentores para estudiantes de primaria
Si están interesados en participar en el programa de ‘mentores’ para los
estudiantes de la escuela Pecan Springs (la escuela al lado de nuestra iglesia),
esto es ayudar a niños que no tienen un papa o una mama que los apoye, es ser
amigo del niño, ir a comer con el a la cafetería de su escuela una vez por
semana. Esto es un compromiso para todo el año. Si le gustaría ayudar, llame al

Mentor’s needed for
elementary students
Sacred Heart is again reaching out
to the children attending Pecan
Springs Elementary School (the
school next to the church). Last
year we had 10 mentors from
Sacred Heart participating.
The program consists of being a
‘mentor’ to a child that does not
have the support of a father or
mother. Being a mentor requires
being a friend to the child and
having lunch with the child in the
school cafeteria one day every
week.
It
also
requires
a
commitment for the whole school
year. This could be your Christ call
to help children in need. A meeting
will be held in 2/3 weeks to provide
the information and start the
background checks like the one
required for the EIM for the
diocese. If you are interested call
