CONSTITUTION ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
TITLE I PARENT lNVOLVEMENT POLICY 2015-2016
In collaboration with parents, Constitution Elementary has created a Parent Involvement Policy which includes
activities as outlined in section 1118 of the Elementary and Secondary Act (ESEA).
In accordance with this policy, Constitution Elementary agrees to:

Convene an annual meeting to explain the Title I program to parents and inform them of their right to be
involved in the program;
•
Offer a flexible number of meetings to meet parent's needs. Title I funds, may be used to pay related
expenses such as child care;
"
Involve parents, "in an organized, ongoing and timely way," in planning, review and improvement of
Constitution's Title I program;
•
Provide timely information about its Title I programs to parents, describe the curricula, the student
assessments and proficiency levels students are expected to meet, provide opportunities for regular
meetings, respond promptly to parent suggestions, and offer child care at the school during such
meetings.
In order to build capacity for involvement, the Constitution Elementary staff will:

Provide assistance to parents in understanding the Common Core Standards.
Offer assistance to parents in understanding state and local assessments, the requirements of this act, -·
and how to monitor their child(ren)'s progress.
Provide parents with information as to how th ey can work with educators to improve the performance
of their children and information as to how they can participate in decisions relating to the education of
their children.
Provide materials and trainings to help ·parents work with their children to improve achievement.
Educate all staff members regarding the value of parent involvement and the positive impact it has on
student achievement and in understanding how to utilize parents as equal partners.
Invite parents of students attending Head Start and all other parents of preschool age children to fully
participate in activities that help children have a smooth transition from pre-school to kindergarten.
These activities include, but are not limited to, Family Curriculum Nights and Kindergarten Orientation.
Take suggestions from parents by e-mail, verbally, or in written form.
Provide full opportunities for the participation of parents with limited English proficiency or with
disabilities, including providing information and school profiles in a language and format that parents
under�tand.

incluye actividades como se indica en la secci6n 1118 de la Ley Primaria y Secundaria (ESEA).
De acuerdo con esta politica, La Primaria Constitution se compromete a:

Convocar una reunion anual para explicar el programa de Title I (Titulo I) para los padres e informar a ellos de
su derecho a participar en el programa;
Ofrecer un numero flexible de reuniones para satisfacer las necesidades de los padres. Los fondos de Title I,
pueden ser usados para pagar gastos relacionados tales como cuidado de nifios;
Involucrar a los padres, "en una forma organizada, continua y oportuna," en p!anear, revisary meforar el programa
de Title I de Constitution;
Proveer informacion oportuna acerca de sus programas de Title I para los padres, describir los planes de estudio,

Proveer materiales y entrenamientos para ayudar a los padres a trabajar con sus ni:fios para mejorar su
rendimiento.
Educar a todos los miembros de! personal en relaci6n al valor de la participaci6n de los padres y de! impacto
positive que este tiene en los logros de los estudiantes y en la comprensi6n de c6mo utilizar a los padres como
socios iguales.
Invitar a los padres de los estudiantes asistiendo a Head Start y a todos los otros padres de nifios en edad
preescolar a participar plenamente en actividades que ayuden a los nifi.os � una transici6n fluida de preescolar a
kinder. Estas actividades incluyen, pero no se limitan a, noches curriculares para la farnilia, y orientaci6n para
