THE HUMANITY OF JESUS CHRIST
All three readings today support—each in its
own way, of course—a reflection on the humanity of Jesus Christ and how that humanity
played a key role in the drama of our salvation. Although not chosen specifically to coordinate with the other two readings, today’s
second reading does in fact carry forward the
theme of Christ’s humanity in a remarkable
way. The author of the Letter to the Hebrews
highlights the solidarity that exists between
Jesus and us, precisely because in his human
nature Jesus has known the same sufferings and testing
that are our own experience. Because he can
“sympathize with our weaknesses,” we can “approach the
throne of grace to receive mercy.” For the author of
Hebrews, the humanity of Jesus was an essential requirement for his redemptive death, as well as an invitation to
us to find in Jesus someone with whom we can identify

LA HUMANIDAD DE JESUCRISTO
Las tres lecturas de hoy apoyan –cada una a
su manera, por supuesto– una reflexión sobre la humanidad de Jesucristo y la forma
en que la humanidad tuvo un papel clave en
el papel de nuestra salvación. Aunque no
fue seleccionada específicamente para coordinar con las otras dos lecturas, la segunda
lectura de hoy, de hecho, continúa el tema
de la humanidad de Cristo de una manera
notable. El autor de la Carta a los Hebreos

Market on the Move provides a farmers’ market atmosphere at
various locations where individual buyers can come on
a regular basis to pick up free produce for use in their
homes as well as for distribution to family and friends.

Two Mission Collections to be Taken Up
World Missions
We will take up this year’s World Mission collection
next Sunday, October 28th. The theme for this year is,
“Called to radiate the Word, the truth.” World Mission
Sunday is a day set aside for Catholics worldwide to
recommit themselves to the Church's missionary activity through prayer and sacrifice. Funds collected, are
distributed, in their entirety, to mission dioceses
throughout the world. Your generosity is greatly appreciated.

Please note, the annual collection for Carmelite Missions will be
on the following weekend November 3rd and 4th.

foster our respect for life by collecting baby items for
Reachout Pregnancy Center and adult items forVilla
Maria Care Center. Items needed include: receiving
blankets, baby gowns, disposable baby diapers (all
sizes), baby bottles, sleepers, washcloths & towels. Items for
the nursing home include: lap blankets, adult diapers and small
decorative pillows. Please bring items to Mass and place the
items in designated baskets.

November 2nd All Souls Day
Novena & Masses
Our parish will begin its All Souls Novena at the 8:00 AM Daily
Mass on All Souls Day (Friday, November 2nd). The Novena
will continue for 9 consecutive Masses (at the 8:00 AM Daily
Mass Saturday, the 5:00 PM Saturday Anticipated Mass of
Sunday, the 8:00 AM 10:00 AM, 1:00 PM, 3:00 PM - Mass in
Polish - and 7:00 PM Masses on Sunday, with the 9th Mass
being the 8:00 AM Daily Mass on Monday, November 5th).
You may enroll deceased loved ones in the Novena by using
the Novena envelope (available in the mailed packets or on
the table in the vestibule) to list their names and include your
donation. Envelopes need to be turned in by the 8:00 AM
Mass on Friday, November 2nd.
In addition, on Friday, November 2nd, there will be diocesan
celebrations of Memorial Masses at the two Catholic Cemeteries here in Tucson. Both Masses will begin at 8:00 AM; one at
Our Lady of the Desert Cemetery, the other at Holy Hope
Cemetery 3555 N. Oracle Road. Refreshments will be available
after Masses.

Novena y Misas
Nuestra parroquia empezará la Novena de los Fieles Difuntos
en la Misa de las 8 de la mañana del Día de los Fieles Difuntos (el 2 de noviembre). La novena continuará por nueve
misas consecutivas (en el sábado, la misa diaria a las 8:00 de
la mañana y la misa a las 5 :00 de la tarde; el domingo, las
misas de 8:00, 10:00, 1:00, 3:00 y 7:00; y la ultima Misa
estará el lunes, 5 de noviembre, a las 8:00 de la mañana).
Se pueden inscribir sus difuntos en la Novena, utilizando el

Seventh Annual St. Cyril Golf Tournament!!
On Saturday, November 3th get ready to tee off with
your favorite golf buddies at the Forty Niner Country
Club. Registration will begin at 6:30 AM with a shotgun start at 7:30 AM. Lunch will be served at 12:30
PM. There’s lots of great prizes, (including a car) a
50/50 raffle (tickets will be sold after Masses next

Southwest Medical Aid’s
Annual Rummage Sale
When: Saturday, November 3rd
Where: Nicholson Hall at St. Cyril
Time: 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
Southwest Medical Aid provides medical supplies for
the poor with medical needs. In addition, they give
medical supplies to hospitals, clinics and orphanages that are
in need in impoverished areas. All proceeds go to Southwest
Medical Aid so that they may continue this important mission.
