Teachers’ Commitment:
Without taking shortcuts, we commit fully to KIPP Prep in the following ways:
 We will do whatever it takes to challenge and assist our students to meet KIPP Austin’s expectations for academic skills, intellectual
habits, and character traits.
 We will do our best to meet every child’s needs in order to give them the tools they will need to thrive in, and graduate from, fouryear colleges and universities and positively affect their communities.
 We will create and maintain an environment in all places at our school that promotes our values of courage, tenacity, honor,
community, and quality for individual student improvement and team improvement.
 We will always strive and seek out ways to improve upon our teaching abilities.
 We will produce thoughtful, high quality lessons that are based on the premise that all students will be challenged every minute of
every day, using data reflecting all students’ abilities.
 We will work productively and effectively to create a supportive school that makes significant differences in the lives of all of our
children.
 We will work with our Team and Family of parents, students, and staff to address challenges and inconsistencies in our school, as well
as to highlight the school’s strengths so that we can continue to grow as a strong Team and Family.
 We will work with each child and family to ensure that every child is supported and challenged so that he/she is developing into a
strong, independent, respectful, team-oriented young adult.
 We will always protect the safety, interests, and rights of all individuals in the classroom.
 We will be available to students and parents for their concerns.
We will work as a team and family to ensure that every student is successful. We understand that it is important for us, as teachers, to meet
these commitments or actions will be taken, including additional support and involvement by the school leaders and possible loss of
employment.

Parent/Guardian Commitment:
Without taking shortcuts, I commit fully to KIPP Austin in the following ways:
 I will help my child the best way I know how.
 I will do whatever it takes to help my child master KIPP Austin’s expectations.
 I will be responsible for the actions of my child.
 I will make myself available to my child and to the school as needed. When problems arise, I will approach all staff members calmly
with questions, knowing that every adult has my child’s best interest at heart.
 I will carefully read all information the school sends home and hold onto them when necessary.
 I will check my child's homework to ensure that it is complete and sign appropriate documents every night.
 I will ensure that my child calls the teacher when there are problems with homework.
 I will notify the school no later than 7:30am if my child will miss school, and I will allow my child to call his/her teachers to get any
missing work.
 I will ensure that my child arrives at KIPP Austin by 7:30am (Monday – Friday) or boards a KIPP Austin bus at the scheduled time.
 I will arrange for my child to remain at KIPP Austin until 4:30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and until 3:00pm on
Wednesdays.
 I will arrange for my child to attend KIPP Austin on appropriate Saturdays from 8:30am to 12:00pm.
 I will ensure that my child attends KIPP Austin Summer School.
 I will allow my child to go on KIPP Austin field lessons.
 I will ensure that my child follows the KIPP Austin dress code as described in the Student Handbook.

Student Commitment:
Without taking shortcuts, I commit fully to KIPP Austin in the following ways:
 I will work my hardest to meet KIPP Austin’s academic, intellectual and character expectations.
 I will be honest about my actions and accept responsibility when I make mistakes.
 I will always work, think, and behave in the best way that I know how, and I will do whatever it takes for my fellow students and me to
learn.
 I will communicate appropriately with all of my teammates and give everyone my respect.
 I will behave so as to protect the safety, interests, and rights of all individuals in the classroom.
 I will raise my hand and ask questions in class until I understand something.
 I will complete all of my homework every night.
 I will call my teachers when I have problems with homework.
 I will make myself available to parents and teachers for any concerns they may have.
 I will arrive at KIPP Austin every day by 7:30am (Monday – Friday) or board a KIPP Austin bus at the scheduled time.
 I will remain at KIPP Austin until 4:30pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and until 3:00pm on Wednesdays.
 I will come to KIPP Austin on appropriate Saturdays at 8:30am and remain until 12:00pm.
 If I am absent for any reason, I will call the school before 7:30am. If I know that I will be absent before the day I miss school, I will let
my teachers know and get all work before I am absent.
 I will attend KIPP Austin Summer School.
 I will follow the KIPP Austin rules and dress code, as outlined in the Student Handbook.
I understand that as a member of a team and a family, it is important for me to meet these commitments or there will be additional
involvement and support by teachers, staff members, and/or school leaders. I will work to learn from my choices and I understand that there is
the possibility of consequences, including loss of privilege and removal from the Team. If all possible interventions are still not leading to
improvements in my decision-making, I may be asked to leave KIPP Austin.

 Haremos todo lo que esté a nuestro alcance para retar y asistir a nuestros estudiantes para cumplir con las expectativas de KIPP
Austin, habilidades académicas, hábitos intelectuales y rasgos de carácter.
 Haremos todo lo posible por cumplir con todas las necesidades de cada niño/a y darles las herramientas necesarias para prosperar y
graduarse de universidades de cuatro años y así impactar positivamente a sus comunidades.
 Crearemos y mantendremos un ambiente en toda la escuela que promueva nuestros valores; tenacidad, valor, honor, comunidad y
calidad para el mejoramiento individual del estudiante y el mejoramiento del equipo.
 Nos esforzaremos y buscaremos maneras de mejorar nuestras capacidades de enseñanza.

Produciremos lecciones efectivas y de alta calidad basándonos en que todos los estudiantes sean desafiados cada minuto de cada
día, usando datos que reflejen las capacidades de los estudiantes.

 Trabajaremos con nuestro Equipo; Padres, estudiantes y el personal de la escuela para dirigirse a desafíos e inconsistencias en nuestra
escuela, así como para destacar las fortalezas de la escuela de modo que podamos seguir creciendo fuerte como un Equipo y Familia.
 Trabajaremos con todos los niños y sus familias para asegurarnos que cada niño/a sea apoyado/a y retado/a, para que él/ella se

 Estaré disponible para mi niño/a y para la escuela cuando sea necesario. Cuando surja un problema, yo me dirigiré calmadamente al
personal con preguntas, sabiendo que en el fondo de su corazón cada adulto tiene el mejor interés por mi niño/a.
 Leeré cuidadosamente toda la información que la escuela mande a casa y quedarme con dicha información cuando sea necesario.
 Revisaré la tarea de mi niño/a todos los días para asegurarme que esté completa.
 Me aseguraré que mi niño/a llame al maestro/a cuando tenga problemas con la tarea.
 Avisaré a la escuela antes de las 7:30am si mi niño/a estará ausente y dejaré que mi niño/a llame a sus maestros para obtener sus
asignaturas.
 Me aseguraré que mi niño/a llegue a KIPP Austin no más tarde de las 7:30am (Lunes - Viernes), ó que aborde el autobús de KIPP
Austin a la hora apropiada.
 Haré los arreglos necesarios para que mi niño/a permanezca en KIPP Austin hasta las 4:30pm Lunes, Martes, Jueves y Viernes y hasta
las 3:00pm los Miércoles.
 Haré arreglos para que mi niño/a pueda asistir a KIPP Austin los Sábados apropiados de 8:30am - 12:00pm.
 Me aseguraré de enviar a mi niño/a a la escuela de verano de KIPP Austin.
 Dejaré que mi niño/a vaya a los viajes de KIPP Austin .
 Me aseguraré que mi niño/a siga las reglas y el código de vestir de KIPP Austin como lo indica en el Manual del Estudiante.

 Trabajaré arduamente por cumplir las expectativas académicas, intelectuales y de carácter de KIPP Austin.
 Seré honesto/a con mis acciones y aceptaré mi responsabilidad cuando cometa errores.
 Siempre trabajaré, pensaré y me comportaré de la mejor manera y haré lo que sea necesario para que mis compañeros y yo
aprendamos.
 Me comunicaré apropiadamente con todos mis compañeros y daré a cada uno el respeto que se merecen.

Siempre me comportaré de manera que proteja la seguridad, intereses y derechos de todos los individuos en el salón de clase.
 Levantaré mi mano y haré preguntas en la clase hasta que entienda.
 Completaré toda mi tarea todas las noches.
 Llamaré a los maestros cuando tenga problemas con la tarea.
 Siempre estaré disponible para mis padres y maestros para cualquier asunto que ellos tengan.
 Llegaré a KIPP Austin no más tarde de las 7:30am Lunes – Viernes o abordaré el autobús de KACP a la hora apropiada.
 Permaneceré en KIPP Austin hasta las 4:30pm Lunes, Martes, Jueves y Viernes y hasta las 3:00pm los Miércoles.
 Asistiré a KIPP Austin los Sábados apropiados a las 8:30am y permaneceré hasta las 12:00pm.
 Si por cualquier razón estaré ausente, llamaré a la escuela antes de las 7:30am. Si yo se que estaré ausente antes del día que voy a
faltar, avisaré a mis maestros para obtener toda la tarea.
 Asistiré a la escuela del verano de KIPP Austin.
 Seguiré las reglas y el código de vestir de KIPP Austin, como lo indica el Manual del Estudiante.
Yo entiendo que como miembro del equipo y familia, es importante para mí cumplir este compromiso o habrá intervención adicional de los
maestros, personal y/o líderes de la escuela. Trabajaré para aprender de mis decisiones y entiendo que existe la posibilidad de consecuencias,
incluyendo perdida de privilegios, ser removido/a del Equipo. Si todas las intervenciones posibles no llevan a un mejoramiento en las decisiones
que tome, se me puede pedir que me vaya de KIPP Austin.
