Hay verbos regulares (+ed) e irregulare (listado*) Excepciones de los verbos regulares: o Si acaba en e solo se añade D(live.. lived) o Si tiene 1 sílaba y acaba en vocal+consonante se dobla la consonante (stop---stopped) o Si acaba en Y se cambia la Y por I (study---studied) o 2 sílabas vocal+ consonante se dobla la consonante (permit— permitted) o Si tiene 2 sílabas y acaba el L ó P dobla (kidnap—kidnapped) El presente simple suele ir acompañado de expresiones temporale que indican en qué momento sucedió la acción.(yesterday, ago, last night, in the past, at+1 hora, ). Se forma con el pasado del verbo TO BE(WAS/WERE) Se utiliza para expresar lo que estaba sucediendo en el pasado y para describir 2 ó más acciones prolongadas y simultaneas en el pasado unidas por WHILE or AS Ej: they were watching Tv while/as their father was sleeping El verbo que va en ING : o Si acaba en e muda pierde esa vocal (write-wrting) o I tiene 1 silaba y acaba en vocal y consonante dobla la consonante (sitsitting) o Con 2 sílabas y acaba en vocal+1 consonante dobla (refer-referring) o Si tiene 2 sílabas y acaba en L ó P dobla (travel-travelling) o Si acaba en ie cambia ie por Y (die dying) CONTRASTE THE PAST SIMPLE AND PAST CONTINUOUS El primero Expresa que indica que la acción ocurrió y terminó en en tiempo indicado en la frase mientras que el segundo habla de acciones prolongada que estaban ocurriendo en el pasado.
