La intención de la presente muestra no va más allá de la creación de un diálogo tripartita e
intuitivo. El primer intercambio dialógico comienza entre los autores. El segundo y forzoso
para la efectividad de la muestra va desde los significados creados entre el primer diálogo
para después dirigirse al espectador final. Este diálogo es incitado por un curador, el cual,
apegándose a las teorías de híbridos culturales de Hommi Bhabha se convierte en el tercer
espacio enunciativo. Es en este espacio enunciativo donde Presentando lo Irrepresentable

siempre transicional, pretende ser un punto neutral donde las transformaciones se conviertan en un estado clave para la creación artística. En otras palabras, Presentando lo Irrepresentable se enfoca en la transición, la liminalidad, el umbral, el limbo y las eternas ramificaciones allí generadas.
Esta transformación requiere de una rotura y es en ese estado incompleto en el que esta
muestra propone habitemos. Porque en un estado amorfo como éste es donde todos
podemos percibir lo imperceptible o dejar de hacerlo pero siempre de forma homogénea.

effectiveness and goes from the meanings created in the first dialogue and then addresses
theories of cultural hybrids, and becomes the third space to enunciate. This space is where
between past and present, always transitional, intends to be a neutral point where transformation becomes a key state for artistic creation. In other words, Presenting the Unrepresentable focuses on transition, liminality, the threshold, Limbo and the eternal ramifications
created there.
This transformation requires a breakthrough, an incomplete state where this show suggests
us to inhabit. It is in an amorphous state where we can perceive the unperceivable or stop
doing it, but always homogeneously. Perhaps, thanks to the subtle clues given by Rico and
Abundez, the spectator is capable to digest –although not to verbalize– the impassible
essence of the exhibition. However, verbalizing this essence will, undoubtedly, invalidate its
comprehension.
The work by Rico and Abundez is not trying to take us unwittingly to this state but it attempts
to present a display whose context and aesthetic solution give a better understanding of the
possibilities to inhabit the threshold. In other words: they are not trying to represent an
in between. This research theorizes the root of these concepts, showing physical and metaphorically the spectrum of possibilities comprised in a liminal state, trying to create a sense
of community –communitas¬, resulting from the search of this anti-structure.
The more unfamiliar the protagonists of this imprecise dialogue are, the more dramatic the
contexts.
Thereby, through metaphors of death, futile attempts to stabilize the ephemeral, symbols of
continuity or mausoleums showing nostalgia for what it was before, is how Abundez and
Rico try to present the sublime nature of everything they will never try to represent.
