Retreat Day. The House of Prayer, located at 194 Gaylor Avenue, Scarsdale, NY 10583
(across from Immaculate Heart of Mary Church), is hosting a day of retreat on Saturday,
September 10, 2016, from 10am-2pm. Mass will be celebrated with music and lunch will be
provided. Rev. Anthony Omenihu of St. Columbanus Church will be the celebrant and speaker.

Bible Study: This year’s Bible reflection will include a section of the Old Testament called the
“Wisdom Writings”: Proverbs, (Ecclesiastes), Sirach (Ecclesiastes), Wisdom, Job, Song of
Songs, Psalms. “Wisdom” has to do with the examination of our life experience, our culture
and the world around us to discern God’s will leading to rights living. We will focus
specifically on the Book of Proverbs as an occasion to “do wisdom in our own lives”. We will
meet on the First and Third Tuesday of each month in the Rectory at 7:30 p.m. come and join
Fr. James Villa. Starting September 6 & 20, October 4 & 18, November 1 & 15, March 7 &
21, April 4, &18 and May 2 & 16.
Parish School of Religion Registration- Registration for new and returning
students of registered parishioners of St. Mary-Our Lady of Mount Carmel will be
the weekend of September 10 & 11th after all the masses. Please bring a copy of
your child’s baptismal certificated on the day of registration. If you know anybody
who wants to register their child for PSR, please let them know the date and times
of registration.
