Creativity is an inherent capacity in all human beings and is present in high levels in gifted
children. The main aim of this work is to offer a ten-activity programme that unfolds the
gifted children creative capacities. Five of them are framed in a workshop that develops
the verbal creativity whilst the resting five are included in a second workshop that

reinforces the graphic or figurative creativity. The structure of the activities follows the
eight steps of the method known as “Thinking Actively in Creative Environments” (PAEC),
an adaptation by Sanz de Acedo Lizarraga and Sanz de Acedo Baquedano (2007) of the
method of Wallace and Adams (1963), in which there are included some techniques that
stimulate creativity in its four components: fluency, flexibility, originality and elaboration.
In other words, the purpose of this work is to provide gifted children with the necessary
tools to upgrade their creative potential.

La creatividad es una capacidad inherente a los seres humanos y que se presenta en
diferentes grados en personas con altas capacidades. El objetivo de este trabajo es
elaborar un programa de diez actividades que fomenten las capacidades creativas del
alumnado con altas capacidades. Cinco de ellas trabajan la creatividad verbal y las cinco
restantes la creatividad gráfica o figurativa. La estructura de las actividades sigue los ocho
pasos del método conocido como “Pensar Activamente en Entornos Creativos” (PAEC),
una adaptación de Sanz de Acedo Lizarraga y Sanz de Acedo Baquedano (2007) del
método de Wallace y Adams (1963) y, dentro de ellas, se incluyen técnicas creativas para
generar y evaluar ideas, lo que permite que se potencien los cuatro componentes de la
creatividad que son la fluidez, la flexibilidad, la originalidad y la elaboración. En otras
palabras, la finalidad de este trabajo es facilitar las herramientas necesarias para que el
alumnado con altas capacidades despliegue su potencial creativo.
