CHANGE PROPOSAL FROM THE ECB

The European Central Bank has proposed a change in the last paragraph of the Executive
Summary, considering that the text should make clear the "the need for the proposal to be fully
in line with the principle of central bank independence".
The Steering Committee of the project fully agrees with this suggestion and, so, it has been
approved a new text for the last paragraph of the Executive Summary:
OLD TEXT
Once the feasibility, value and possible
features of EIB involvement have been
clarified, the major remaining challenge from
the point of view of technical and political
verification is to press ahead with the
discussions and ensure that the ECB takes the
most appropriate decisions.
NEW TEXT

features of EIB involvement have been
clarified, the major remaining challenge from
the point of view of technical and political
verification is to facilitate the ECB the analysis
and -if that is the case- the corresponding
decisions, with full respect of its institutional
independence.
