RCIA (Rite of Christian
Initiation)
We are offering two RCIA
programs for adults who wish to
explore the Catholic faith, or for
Adult Catholics who want to
prepare themselves for the sacraments. Fr. Murphy
meets with the English group on Wednesday, at
7:00pm and Fr. Anderson meets with the Spanish
on Saturday, at 10:00am.

Estamos ofreciendo dos
programas de RICA (Rito de
Iniciación Cristiana) para adultos
que desean explorar la fe católica, o
para los adultos católicos que quieran prepararse
para recibir sus sacramentos.
El padre Anderson tiene la clase de español los
sábados a las 10:00am y el padre Murphy las
clases de ingles los miércoles a las 7:00pm.
Confirmation program for teenagers
Our confirmation program has begun.
We meet in the school meeting room
on the second and 4th Sundays of each
month from 2:00pm-4:00pm. All juniors
and seniors attending our Religious Education
program or who are enrolled in a Catholic High
School are eligible for the program.

Annual Fall Festival
The primary goal of the festival was to build
community. We accomplished that. We had a great
outpouring of time and effort by many church
members and even some non-members who come
every year to help.
Who needs to be
thanked?
To mention individual
members by name would
require mentioning more
than a hundred, and even
then I am sure some who
deserve mention would be overlooked. As pastor of
the church, I simply wish to say thanks to all who
participated. I will leave the individual giving of
thanks in the hands of God who will surely not
overlook anyone.
The secondary goal was to gain revenue to
continue our work of service. The breakdown was
as follows:
Saturday:
$16,126.00.
Sunday:
$19,950.00.
Sat & Sun: $36,076.00 (before expenses)

Procrastinators 
If you forgot to turn in your raffle tickets, don’t be
embarrassed. Just drop them in the church
collection basket or bring them by the church office
so that we can record the information and give you
credit.
An observation: Many people made comments to
me that a lot of people did not take any tickets. As
pastor, I would be remiss in not mentioning that a
great number of parishioners did not expend much
effort. 263 families (more than half the community)
did not take any raffle tickets nor donate any
money. I liken it to a person who has a stroke and
is paralyzed on one side of the body. The person
can still function, but finds mobility much more
difficult.
As community, we can criticize the passive side of
the body or choose to work with the active side.
My own preference is not to dwell on the negative
but rather strive to do God’s work by continuing to
work with those who work to build community.

¿A Quien se le tiene que agradecer? Mencionar a
cada persona por su nombre necesitaría mencionar
a más de cien, y a un así estoy seguro dejaría
algunos sin mencionar. Como párroco de la Iglesia,
simplemente deseo dar las gracias a los que
participaron. Dejo en manos de Dios el agradecer a
cada persona porque estoy seguro que El no dejara
a nadie fuera.
El segundo objetivo fue obtener ingresos para
continuar con nuestra labor de servicio. La
distribución es la siguiente:

Si lo deja todo para el último momento
Si olvido entregar sus boletos de la rifa del festival,
no se preocupe. Puede ponerlos en la canasta de la
colecta durante misa o traerlos a la oficina para
anotar su contribución.
Una observación: Muchas personas han hecho
comentarios a mí que una gran cantidad de
personas que no reciben los boletos.Como pastor,
yo sería negligente al no mencionar que un gran
número de feligreses no se esforzaron mucho. 263
familias (más de la mitad de la comunidad) no
tomaron sus boletos de la rifa ni dieron su

donación. Lo comparo con una persona que tiene
un derrame cerebral y está paralizado de un lado
del cuerpo. La persona puede seguir funcionando,
pero encuentra movilidad mucho más difícil.
Como comunidad, podemos criticar el lado pasivo
del cuerpo o elegir trabajar con la parte activa.
Mi preferencia es no detenerse en lo negativo, sino
más bien tratar de hacer la obra de Dios por seguir
trabajando con aquellos que trabajan para construir
la comunidad.
Soccer
We will begin the soccer
program for the children
beginning on Sunday,
November 4th. We have two
sessions. The first session
coached by Armando Platta meets after the Spanish
class: 11:30am -1:00pm and the second session
coached by Gustavo Acosta meets after the English
class from1:15pm -2:45pm.
You must be in the Religious program to be
eligible to play on the teams.
