BEAR NEWS:
eLEARNING DAYS in BCSC
The BCSC calendar has 5 built in snow days. On the 6th snow day, BCSC will institute eLearning days,
rather than adding days to the end of the school year.
The One to One Technology Use Agreement went home last week. Please read and sign
stating you understand the policies for bringing Chromebooks home if there should be an
Elearning day. Please return to Taylorsville Elementary School.
Due to our 2 snow days, we will now have school on Thursday March 24th and Friday March
25th.
DRESS CODE REMINDERS
As stated in our Taylorsville Student Handbook…
The primary requirement for the appropriateness of any dress for children is the cooperation of the parents. If a
child's clothing is so unusual that it attracts excessive attention to himself/herself, it may distract from the educational
process. Students inappropriately dressed will be sent to the nurse to change or have appropriate attire brought to
them by parents. No rule will suffice for all occasions.
 Printing, patches, or badges, which are profane, promote alcohol or drugs, wrestling, or suggestive, must
never be worn on clothing.
 Sleeveless is okay, however, no spaghetti straps, tank tops or halter-tops should be worn. Undergarments
and torso should not be visible.
 Pants must come to the waist and stay up. Clothing must also be a safe fit. Clothes that are too tight may
restrict movement during PE or a safety drill.
 Shorts, skirts, and skorts must pass the fingertip test. Shirts must cover the midriff/torso and be modest.
Shirts must keep the entire torso covered when students raise their hand.
 Sensible shoes are to be worn at all times to assist in student safety on the playground, during PE classes and
during the instructional day. Shoes should be ones that do not restrict physical activities. Such shoes that
may restrict activities include high heels, flip flops, shoes with tall soles/heels and clogs. Shoes with builtin skates are prohibited.
 Painted or colored hair is strongly discouraged. This disrupts the learning environment.
 Pro wrestling shirts of any kind shall not be worn to school.
 Hats and caps are prohibited in the school building. Any gang emblem or insignia is prohibited.

We wanted to let you know that our PTO will be running a contest in January/February, so we encourage
you to save your box tops! Please fill the pizzas for your class for a chance to win a pizza party!

JUST A REMINDER FROM MRS. DOLAN’S ART CLASS
Art to Remember is back! An artwork from first semester will be submitted by next week, and a
personalized order form will be coming to you in the next couple of weeks. I hope we have less problems
than last year, but PLEASE email me at [email protected] with any questions so we can make sure
you have the chance to order what you'd like! If your student began classes at Taylorsville after December,
it is likely they won't have artwork for this. We hope to catch those students next year for this wonderful
fundraiser! Also, art club will remain in session on 2 hour delay days. Thank you for all participants!

NOTICIAS OSO:
DIAS de eAPRENDER en BCSC
El calendario de la BCSC incluye 5 días de nieve. En el sexto día, BCSC implementara el día de eAprender,
en lugar de añadir días de clases al final del año escolar.
El Acuerdo de Uso Uno a Uno de Tecnología se les envio la semana pasada. Por favor léanlo
y fírmenlo para indicar su aceptación de las políticas que regirán cuando lleven los
Chromebooks a casa si hay un día de eAprendizaje. Por favor devuélvalo a la Escuela
Primaria Taylorsville
A causa de nuestros 2 días de nieve, ahora tendremos clases el Jueves 24 de Marzo y el
Viernes 25 de Marzo.
RECORDATORIO SOBRE EL CODEIGO DE VESTIR
Como indica el Manual del Estudiante de Taylorsville…
El requisito primario para una vestimenta apropiada para los niños es la cooperación de los padres. Si la vestimenta
de un niñ(a) es tan rara que atrae excesiva atención hacia el o ella, podría ser una distracción para el proceso
educativo. Los estudiantes que no vengan vestidos apropiadamente se enviaran a la enfermera para cambiarse o a
esperar que sus padres le traigan ropa apropiada. Ninguna norma será suficiente para todas las ocasiones.
 No se permitirá usar ropa con letreros, parches o insignias que sean profanas, promuevan el uso del alcohol
las drogas, la lucha libre o sugestivos..
 Sin mangas está bien, pero no se permite blusas con tirantes, ni que dejen al descubierto los hombros. El
torso y la ropa interior no deben ser visibles.
 Los pantalones deben llegar a la cintura y permanecer allí. Considere la seguridad al vestir. Ropa muy
ajustada pude restringir los movimientos durante Educación Física o durante un simulacro de seguridad.
 Los pantalones cortos y las faldas deben pasar la prueba de la punta del dedo. Las camisas deben cubrir el
torso y la cintura y ser modestos. Las camisas deben cubrir todo el torso cuando el estudiante levante su
mano.
 Se deben usar zapatos apropiados todos el tiempo para que los ayuden en su seguridad durante el receso,
durante la educación física y durante el todo el dia de clases. Los zapatos deben ser tales que no limiten la
actividad física. Los zapatos que pueden restringir actividades incluyen los de tacones altos, chancletas, y
zuecos, los de suelas gruesas. Los zapatos con patines están prohibidos.
 Nos oponemos fuertemente a la pintura o teñido del cabello. Esto perturba el ambiente de aprendizaje.
 En la escuela no se pueden usar camisas que promuevan la lucha libre de cualquier tipo.
 Dentro de la escuela están prohibidos los sombreros y las gorras. Están prohibidos los emblemas o insignias
de pandillas o bandas.

tapas de las cajas! ¡Por favor, llenen las pizas de su salón para que tengan oportunidad de ganar una fiesta

¡Vuelve Arte para Recordar! Un trabajo de arte se enviara la próxima semana y una planilla de
pedidos le llegara en un par de semanas. ¡Espero que haya menos problemas que el año pasado,
pero si tienen preguntas, por favor, escríbanme al [email protected] para asegurar que
ordenamos lo que usted desea! Si su estudiante empezó clases en Taylorsville después de
Diciembre, es muy probable que to tenga un trabajo para esto. ¡Esperamos tener sus trabajos para
el próximo año! Además, el club de arte mantendrá sus reuniones los días con 2 horas de demora.

Nuevamente el SWLO de esta semana es para los estudiantes de en Grados 1-6. Le pedimos que pregunte
a su niño las diferentes formas que utiliza para demostrar se aprendizaje

Continúe inculcando una mentalidad de crecimiento en su niño(a).
