ONCE MORE, IBIZA HOSTED THE TRADITIONAL TOURNAMENT THAT WAS THE STARTING POINT FOR THIS
SPORT ON THE ISLAND BACK IN 2010.

he sixth edition of Ibiza Beach Polo took
place between August 13 and 16. This year,
the Rolls Royce Polo Team emerged as the
champions. In the ladies’ tournament, Fashion
TV played Air Europa in the final game, going
on to win the Fashion TV Cup.
Other cups that were contested included the
Hierbas de Ibiza Cup, which was won by the
Hierbas de Ibiza Polo Team; the Me Ibiza Cup,
which was won by the Ibiza Style Polo Team;
and the Air Europa Cup, which went to the
team from Polo Plus 10.
The games and all the sporting action of this
tournament began on the Friday. During the
night time of that first day of play the exclusive
Polo Cocktail was held at Hotel Me Ibiza.
On Saturday 15, everything went ahead with
the games corresponding to the tournament’s
semi-finals where the routes to the weekend’s
most important matches were decided. That
evening, an equestrian show set to flamenco
music was held that didn’t fail to impress all
those present. Needless to add, the onset of
night saw the long-established After Polo fiesta
take place.
With the finals at stake, there was no doubt
that Sunday 16 was the tournament’s big day.
At 8pm the main ladies’ final, the Fashion TV
Cup, began. It saw the Fashion TV team, made
up of Cristina Rodriguez, Barbara Hochuli and

a cabo entre el 13 y el 16 de agosto y tuvo a
Rolls Royce Polo Team como campeón. En el
torneo Femenino, Fashion TV enfrentó en el último partido a Air Europa y ganó la Copa Fashion TV.
Además estuvieron en juego las Copas Hierbas
de Ibiza, que ganó Hierbas de Ibiza Polo Team;
la Copa Me Ibiza, que quedó en poder de Ibiza
Style Polo Team y la Copa Air Europa, que ganó
el equipo de Polo Plus 10.
El viernes comenzaron los partidos y la acción deportiva del certamen. Por la noche de
esa primera jornada de juego se realizó el exclusivo Polo Cocktail en el Hotel Me Ibiza.
El sábado 15 todo siguió con los partidos correspondientes a las semifinales del torneo
donde se decidieron los caminos hacia los partidos más importantes del fin de semana. En la
tarde se llevó a cabo un Show Ecuestre que impresionó a los presentes al ritmo de la música
flamenca. Por la noche se realizó la tradicional
fiesta AfterPolo.
El domingo 16 fue el gran día del torneo, ya
que se pusieron en juego las finales. A partir de
las 20 horas se puso en juego la final principal
de las mujeres por la Copa Fashion TV donde el
equipo de Fashion TV, conformado por Cristina
Rodriguez, Barbara Hochuli y Marianela Castagnola superó por 6 a 3 a Air Europa, que contó

statt. Den Meisterschaftstitel sicherte sich das
Rolls Royce Polo Team. Bei den Damen schlug
im Finale das Team Fashion TV die Mannschaft Air Europa und sicherte sich damit den
Fashion TV Cup.
Weitere Cups die ausgespielt wurden: der
Hierbas de Ibiza Cup, der auch vom gleichnamigen Team gewonnen wurde; der Me Ibiza Cup
(sicherte sich das Ibiza Style Polo Team) und
der Air Europa Cup, den das Team POLO + 10
gewann.
Die sportlichen Wettkämpfe starteten am
Freitag, während der Abend dann einen festlichen Ausklang mit einem Cocktail Abend im
Hotel Me Ibiza fand.
Am Samstag ging das Turnier in eine weitere
Runde und die Gäste verfolgten voller Spannung jeden Hook und jeden Push auf dem
Spielfeld. Romantisch wurde es nach Spielschluss an diesem Tag: eine wunderbare Reiterperformance, untermalt von Flamencomusik,
beeindruckte die Zuschauer und war ein wunderbares Intro für die folgende Fiesta Night im
Club.
Der große Tag des Ibiza Beach Polo Turniers
war der Sonntag mit den Finalspielen. Bereits
um 8 Uhr gingen die Damen an den Start. Es
wurde ein Triumph des Fashion TV Teams mit

At the end of the day’s play, it was the moment for the most important match: the VI
Ibiza Beach Polo Cup between Rolls Royce
Motor Cars and HV Polo. Both teams played a
great game that the public enjoyed hugely. In
the end, it was won by the team comprising
Ricky Merchad, Robert Koffler and Marianela
Castagnola 6-3.
With the champions still on the field and the
players receiving their prizes, sunset in Ibiza
was the ideal moment for the awards to be
handed over in a unique, unforgettable atmosphere.

Ya en el cierre de la jornada y el partido más
importante donde estuvieron en juego las
Copas Rolls Royce Motor Cars y el VI Ibiza
Beach Polo Cup tuvo como protagonistas a los
equipos de Rolls Royce Polo Team y HV Polo jugaron un gran partido ante el público presente
y terminó con el triunfo por 6 a 3 por parte del
equipo conformado por Ricky Merchad, Robert
Koffler y Marianela Castagnola.
Con los campeones en la cancha y los jugadores recibiendo los premios llegó el atardecer
en Ibiza que permitió que se realice la entrega
de premios en un ambiente único e inolvidable.
El 6º Ibiza Beach Polo fue auspiciado por Rolls
Royce Motor Cars, Air Europa, HV Polo, Fashion
TV, Hierbas de Ibiza, Hotel Me Ibiza, Polo + 10,

Spiel, das Ricky Merchad, Robert Koffler und
Marianela Castagnola mit 6:3 gegen HV Polo gewonnen.
Im untergehenden Licht der Sonne nahmen
die Champions ihre Ehrungen entgegen, erschöpft, aber glücklich über ihre Trophäen und
die wunderbare Atmosphäre, die alle Anwesenden ergriff.
