It is designed to encourage student independence, group work and discussion. Instructions Make one copy of the vocabulary cards for each small group of students. Ask students to categorise the words into two groups. They can do this in any way that they choose. There are no right or wrong answers as long as students can justify and explain their choice of grouping. Possible categories might be: problems and solutions, environment and world issues, or verbs and nouns. Students will need to work as a group to ensure that they understand all the vocabulary before beginning to categorise the words. The English meanings could be noted on the back of the cards. A possible extension activity would be for group to select nine of the cards to place in a diamond shape according to the issues which they feel are more/less important for them.
