All of the organizations listed below are available to provide free, global, developmental
screenings to children who are under three years of age. To schedule an appointment, the
parent should call the contact person at the phone number listed.

A global, developmental screening takes a quick look
at all areas of a child’s development: motor, language,
cognitive, social-emotional and adaptive skills. The
results of the screening compare the child to other
children of the same age in each area of
development. If a concern shows up on the screening,
the evaluator may recommend that the child go
through a more in-depth assessment, called an
evaluation, to see if a true developmental delay may
exist.

Una proyección global, desarrollo toma un vistazo rápido
a todas las áreas de desarrollo del niño: motoras,
lingüísticas, cognitivas, sociales, emocionales y
habilidades adaptativas. Los resultados de la proyección
comparar al niño con otros niños de la misma edad en
cada área del desarrollo. Si una preocupación aparece en
la proyección, el evaluador puede recomendar que el
niño vaya a través de una evaluación más en
profundidad, llamada una evaluación, para ver si puede
existir un cierto retraso en el desarrollo.
