Hola amigos! Just a reminder that even learning a few words can be extremely helpful in building
relationships with those you are going to serve. This very little effort will mean so much to them. Here is a very
basic list of words and phrases. It should take no time at all to learn these!

www.livemocha.com to hear audio versions of basic expressions. Learning even just a little bit of the language will
make the most difference in your time because as we learned earlier, most cultures are relational instead of taskoriented. This will mean more to them than all the things you “do” while on the trip!
Remember that the more you understand the country where we are going, the more accurately you will
understand the people you meet there. Spend some time learning where the country is, who runs it, and what
growth and challenges it faces. While we have already given you one source, there is so much more to learn. Here
