COMANDANTES GENERALES DE MARINA
Commanders in Chief of the Navy
En enero de 1926, una comisión formada
por el capitán de fragata Juan Francisco
Anda y Maldonado, capitán de corbeta
Carlos Ibáñez Benítez y capitán de corbeta
Teodoro Morán Valverde, presentó un
proyecto de reorganización de la Armada
Nacional al coronel jefe de la Zona Militar
de Guayaquil y Comandante General de
Marina. En el oficio adjunto manifestaron
su total inconformidad con la situación en
la que se encontraba la Marina de Guerra
y presentaron un proyecto de ley orgánica
de la institución. A
base de ese proyecto,
que lo revisó el
Jefe de la VI Zona
Militar, se aprobó
la
“Ley Orgánica
de Marina”, y por
decreto del 23 de julio
de 1926 se reformó el
nombre del cargo de
Comandante General
de Marina por el de
Director General de la
Armada, el que desde
el 1 de diciembre
de 1927 lo ejercería,
por primera ocasión,
un oficial naval, el
capitán de fragata
Juan Francisco Anda.
Posteriormente es
restituido el nombre
de
Comandante
General de Marina,
y es el capitán de
navío
Teodoro
Morán Valverde
quien lo ejerce
desde julio de
1936.
In January of 1926, a committee formed
by Commander Juan Francisco Anda
y Maldonado, Lieutenant Commander
Carlos Ibañez Benitez and Lieutenant
Commander Teodoro Moran Valverde,
presented to the Chief of the Military Zone
of Guayaquil and Navy Commander in
Chief, a project about re-organizing the
national Navy. On the attached letter they
stated nonconformity on the situation of
the Navy and presented a project for a
new
institutional
law. This project
was
reviewed
by
the Chief of the VI
Military Zone and
the “Organical Law
of the Navy” was
approved by decree
of 23 rd July, 1926.
The title
of the
Navy Commander in
Chief was reformed
to General Director
of the Navy, from
1 st December, 1927.
Commander
Juan
Francisco Anda used
this title for the first
time.
Later
changed
the
title
back
to
Commander in Chief
