Los pronombres indefinidos compuestos siguen las mismas reglas
de some, any, no.
Somebody – someone – something se usan en frases afirmativas,
y en frases interrogativas cuando se ofrece o se pide algo.
>
There is somebody/someone in the house.
- I’m very thirsty. Can I have something to drink?
- Of course. Would you like something to eat too? You must
also be hungry.
Anybody – anyone – anything se usan en frases negativas e
interrogativas.
>
There isn’t anybody/anyone in the house.
- Is there anybody/anyone in the garden?

En frases afirmativas anybody – anyone – anything tienen el
significado de cualquier, cualquiera, cualquier cosa.
>
Anybody can learn a foreign language, but motivation is a
key factor.
When you are young, you think you can do anything.
Nota
somewhere
= en alguna parte, en algún sitio
anywhere
= en cualquier parte (con un verbo negativo)
nowhere
= en ninguna parte (con un verbo positivo)
everywhere
= en todas partes
everybody
= todos
everyone
= todo el mundo
everything
= todo
¡Atención!
Everybody y everyone significan “todos”, pero necesitan el verbo al
singular.
