LETTER FROM OUR PASTOR
Dear Parishioners,
Tomorrow is July 4, both Independence Day, and also the

56 anniversary of our parish, founded in Spring Branch by
Bishop Nold on July 4, 1960. To celebrate this occasion we
will have fun and food in the pavilion from 11:00 AM to 2:00
PM. All are invited. Hot dogs provided by the KC’s and
desserts by the Catholic Daughters, flavored waters by the
Jovenes. This year we have the macro fans to make the
pavilion cooler than in years past.
And also, can you believe the new church built in 1999 and
2000 is already 16 years old and its use began on March
4, 2000???? Where has time gone?
I am happy to announce that starting this month we will
have on sight, a professional Catholic bi-lingual Counselor
from Rejoice Counseling. It is a program that began in San
Antonio several years ago and came to Houston two years
ago at St. Cyril, St. Bartholomew, Katy and St. Francis de
Sales parishes with great success.
Our counselor is Christine Gholston, a licensed counselor
in the Houston area. She received her Master of Arts in
Counseling from the Franciscan University in Steubenville
Ohio, and her under graduate BA from the University of
Dallas. She will see children, families, individuals and
couples. She has worked for Catholic Charities and several
inner city Catholic Schools. There is a charge on a sliding
scale according to one’ ability to pay. To start Christine will
begin in July and will be here on Friday afternoon and
evenings. Contact info will be in the bulletin.

Queridos Parroquianos,
Mañana es 4 de julio, día de la independencia, y también mañana es el 56º
aniversario de nuestra parroquia, fundada en Spring Branch por el obispo Nold
en el 4 de Julio de 1960. Para celebrar esta ocasión, tendremos diversión y
comida en el pabellón desde las 11:00 AM hasta las 2:00 PM. Todos están
invitados; habrá perros calientes, cortesía de los Caballeros de Colon, postres,
cortesía de las Hijas Católicas, y aguas frescas, cortesía de los Jóvenes. Este
año contamos con los ventiladores macro en el pabellón los cuales nos
mantendrá más fresco que en años anteriores.
También, puede usted creer que la nueva iglesia construida en 1999 y 2000 ya
tiene 16 años y abrieron sus puertas el 4 de marzo de 2000??? ¿Dónde se han
ido los años?
Me complace anunciar que a partir de este mes tendremos disponible, un
consejero profesional católico bilingue proveniente del “Rejoice Counceling”.
Este es un programa que se originó en San Antonio ya hace varios años y llegó
a Houston hace dos años con gran éxito en las parroquias San Cirilo, San
Bartolomé en Katy y en San Francisco de Sales.

Life Awareness Weekend July 22-24, 2016 (Friday 5:00PM-Sunday 2:30PM / Short Interview Required)

searching and discerning God’s call in their lives. . This retreat is designed to help young adults to learn and
explore whatever vocation God might be calling them, to search deeply for the guidance, and to grown in
