Memorandum de Entendimiento entre
el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores,
Comercio Internacional y Culto de la República Argentina,
el Foreign and Commonwealth Office
y
la Universidad de Warwick
El Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, Comercio Internacional y Culto de la República
Argentina, el Foreign and Commonwealth Office y la Universidad de Warwick en
adelante "las Partes";
Inspiradas en el deseo de profundizar el conocimiento recíproco entre la República
Argentina y el Reino Unido de Gran Bretaña e Irlanda del Norte;
Con el fin de contribuir al continuo mejoramiento de las relaciones bilaterales entre sus
respectivos países;
Han convenido:
1. Crear, a través del presente Memorándum, un "Programa de Estudios de PostGrado para estudiantes y jóvenes profesionales graduados en universidades
argentinas".
2. Se otorgarán cinco becas anuales de Estudios de Post-Grado de un año de
duración en la Universidad.
3. El Programa comenzará en el año académico 1999/2000 y operará inicialmente por
cinco años, sujeto a revisión al tercer año, y con la posibilidad de extensión previo
acuerdo de las partes.
4. Las becas podrán ser en las disciplinas que las Partes acuerden.
5. Las Partes seleccionarán a los candidatos por el mecanismo de competición abierta.
El criterio que primará será la excelencia académica y la capacidad de liderazgo.
Los candidatos deberán ser nacionales argentinos o residentes permanentes,
graduados en universidades argentinas.
6. Los candidatos elegidos por la Universidad serán entrevistados en la ciudad de
Buenos Aires para la selección final. El jurado incluirá representantes de la
Embajada británica, del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, Comercio Internacional
y Culto y de la Universidad de Warwick.
7. Para el período 1999/2000 se realizará un procedimiento especial de selección de
candidatos; el proceso de selección posterior será coordinado entre las Partes.
8. Los candidatos deberán contar con:
• La aceptación de la Universidad para el curso de Post-Grado;
• Nivel de inglés escrito y oral requerido por la Universidad para los
estudiantes extranjeros;
• Compromiso de retorno a la Argentina una vez finalizado el curso.
9. Cada parte aportará f: 25.000 al año para el financiamiento de las cinco becas
anuales de un costo de f: 15.000 por beca.
10.Cada beca cubrirá los aranceles que vanaran de acuerdo a la disciplina
seleccionada y contribuirá a sufragar substancialmente gastos de alojamiento y
otros costos. La totalidad de los costos será compartida equitativamente entre las
tres partes.
11.La tabla de costos aproximados por disciplina en libras y sujetos a variaciones
inflacionarias constituye el Anexo I del presente Memorándum.
Firmado en Londres, a los 30 días del mes de octubre del año 1998, en tres originales,
en español e inglés, ambos igualmente auténticos.

MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING
between
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and
Worship of the Argentine Republic
The Foreign & Cornmonwealth Office
and
The University of Warwick
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship
of the Argentine Republic, the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and
the University of Warwick, hereinafter "the Parties":
Inspired by the wish to deepen mutual understanding between the
Argentine Republic and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Northern Ireland¡
With the aim of contributing to the continuing improvement of
bilateral relations between their two countries¡
Have agreed:
l.
To create, by means of the present Memorandum, a "Programme
of postgraduate studies for students and young professionals
graduated from Argentine universities".
2.
Five one-year scholarships for postgraduate study will be
awarded annually at the University.
3.
The Programme will begin in academic year 1999/2000 and
will run initially for five years, subject to review after the
third year, and may be extended by prior agreement between the
Parties.
4.
The scholarships will be tenable in disciplines agreed by
the Parties.
5.
Candidates will be selected by the Parties through open
competition. The main criteria for selection will be academic
excellence and leadership potential. Candidates must be
nationals or permanent residents of Argentina and graduates of
Argentine universities.
6.
Candidates shortlisted by the University will be interviewed
for final selection in the city of Buenos Aires.
The selection
panel will include representatives of the British Embassy, the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship,
and the University of Warwick.
7. A special selection process will be arranged for academic
year 1999/2000. Thereafter the selection procedure and timetable
will be co-ordinated between the Parties.
8.
Candidates must:
- be accepted for admission to the University for
postgraduate studYi
- meet the standard of English language proficiency,
written and oral, required by the University for
overseas studentsi
- undertake to return to Argentina on completion of
their course of study.
9. The Parties will each contribute f25,OOO ayear to fund
the five annual scholarships, each of which will be worth
f15,OOO.
10. Each scholarship will cover academic fees,
according to the discipline selected, and make
