o I can introduce myself in Spanish: Me llamo…
o I can introduce someone else in Spanish: Se llama…
o I know how to say hello and good-bye: Hola (Hello),
Adiós (good-bye)
o I know how to ask someone how they are: ¿Cómo
estás?
o I know how to answer in Spanish when someone asks
how I am:
Estoy bien. (I am well.)
Estoy así-así. (I am so-so.)
Estoy mal. (I am not well.)
o I can count to 20 in Spanish.
o I know how to play “I Spy” and say, “¡Allí! (There!)
o I can make and say a sentence in Spanish in class with
at least 4 words. For example: Antonio juega con el
gato. (Anthony plays with the cat.)
Quarter 2
Spanish – First Grade
o I remember what we learned so far in Spanish.
o I know all eleven color words in Spanish: rojo (red),
anaranjado (orange), amarillo (yellow), verde (green),
azul (blue), morado (purple), rosado (pink), café
(brown), negro (black), blanco (white), gris (gray).
o I know calendar concepts in Spanish:
*the days of the week are not capitalized in Spanish

(family), la madre (mother), el padre (father), el chico
(boy), la chica (girl), el abuelo (grandpa), la abuela
(grandma).
o I can count to 30 in Spanish.
o I know words to talk about things I see in my
classroom: la silla (chair), el libro (book), la mesa
(table), el lápiz (pencil), las tijeras (scissors), el
borrador (eraser), los marcadores (markers), las
crayolas (crayons).
o I know more calendar concepts:
enero (January)
febrero (February)
marzo (March)
abril (April)
mayo (May)

o I know the seasons: el otoño (fall), el invierno (winter),
la primavera (spring), el verano (summer)
o I know words to talk about foods: el queso (cheese), la
leche (milk), la papa (potato), el jugo (juice), el pan
(bread), el pollo (chicken), la ensalada (salad).
o I can talk about the weather:
Hace buen tiempo. (It is good weather.)
Hace mal tiempo (It is bad weather.)
Hace sol. (It is sunny.)
Hace calor. (It is hot.)
Hace frío. (It is cold.)
Hace fresco. (It is cool.)
Hace viento. (It is windy.)
Está lloviendo. (It is raining.)
Está nevando. (it is snowing.)
