Dear STEM Professional,
The John C. Dunham STEM Partnership School in conjunction with Aurora University’s Career Services
Department is proud to present the STEM Career Speaker Series. This purpose of this program is to expand
students’ awareness of different professions within the STEM field and connect them to the people doing the jobs
and the various paths they took to get there.
As a professional in a STEM field, we invite you to be a presenter. Please review the information below to
determine whether this is an opportunity in which you can participate.
The series will take place in March, April and May on the third Wednesday of the month:

We have two audiences: (1) 3 -8 grade students from the Partnership School and (2) college students from
Aurora University.
(1) Presentations for the Partnership School students will take place at the STEM Partnership School at
1:30PM.
(2) Presentations for Aurora University students will take place at AU’s University Dining Hall at 6:00PM.
For the Partnership School, we are asking presenters to conduct a demonstration or activity to illustrate the work
he/she does.
For both audiences, we ask that the presenters cover the following questions:

What company do you work for?
What work does your company do?
What is your title and what type of work do you do?
How did you get interested in the field you are in?
What type of schooling/training did you go through to get the type of job you have?
What other opportunities are available to you based on your experience and training?
We would like to have the last 10-15 minutes be a question and answer period for the audience. The
presentation will last about an hour.

La escuela John C. Dunham STEM Partnership School junto con el Departamento de Servicios Laborales de
Aurora University está feliz de presentar Serie de Oradores Sobre Carreras en STEM. El propósito de este
programa es de expandir la conciencia de los estudiantes sobre las diferentes profesiones dentro de las áreas de
STEM y para conectar a los estudiantes a personas actualmente haciendo esto trabajos y los varios pasos que
tomaron para llegar ahí.

Tenemos dos diferentes audiencias: (1) grados 3-8 de la escuela Partnership School y (2) estudiantes
universitarios de Aurora University.

Nos gustaría reservar los últimos 10-15 minutos para un periodo de preguntas y respuestas de la audiencia. La
presentación será aproximadamente una hora en duracion.
