Society of St. Vincent de Paul
The Giving Tree will be set up in the church as of the
First Sunday of Advent, November 27th. The
tags on the tree are asking for various gift
certificates (i.e. Market Basket, Family Dollar,
C.W. Price, Haffner’s, McDonald’s, Burger King,
etc.). The gift certificates help the St. Vincent
de Paul Society present these certificates, as
needed, throughout the year. They always
bring families smiles and blessings for which
they are very grateful. This helps us all give
glory to God. We recently used our last
certificate, but we feel sure that you will help
us replenish our treasure, which helps us a great deal
to serve the needy better.
Please take a tag from the Giving tree and return your
gift to the special locked box designated for this
purpose. May you be blessed a hundredfold.
Remember, these are the gifts that truly keep on
giving.

Thank you, Edgar Queliz
This weekend Edgar Queliz will complete his
ministry to our parish as our weekend sacristan.
Edgar has served in this ministry for the past 11
years. As sacristan he would open the church,
prepare everything needed for Mass and other
sacramental celebrations, make sure that the
church was clean for the celebrations, help shovel
snow and do whatever else might be needed. We
thank him for his dedicated services. Edgar will
continue to sing and play the guitar and saxophone
at the 12:15 Mass and cantor at the 10:30 Mass.
Retired Sisters: Second Collection
Today’s second collection is used to assist
religious communities to provide for the
retirement and health care needs of Sisters
who have served in the Archdiocese of
Boston.
Please take this opportunity to say thank you to the
Sisters who have served the Church of Boston so
generously for so many years. Your contribution will
make a difference.

Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
Sunday, November 20th, marks eleven
years since we began Perpetual Adoration
of the Eucharist in our Parish shrine. We
thank God for the blessings our parish has
received and continues to receive. May we

Este fin de semana Edgar Queliz completará su
ministerio a nuestra parroquia como nuestro
sacristán de fin de semana. Edgar ha servido en
este ministerio durante los últimos 11 años.
Como sacristán abrió la iglesia, preparó todo lo
necesario para la Misa y otras celebraciones
sacramentales, aseguró que la iglesia estuviera
limpia para las celebraciones, ayudara a limpiar con
pala la nieve y hacer cualquier otra cosa que pudiera
ser necesaria. Le damos las gracias por sus dedicados

We will celebrate our traditional Mass on
Thanksgiving Day. As in past years, we invite families
to bring the bread they will share during
their meal to Mass where it will be
blessed.
This year we are asking you to bring non
perishable food (rice, pasta, canned
goods, cereal, etc.) to Mass to offer for
the Food Pantry. The pantry is almost
out of food. Many families depend on
the pantry to supplement their food purchases.
Thank you for your generous support .
Celebraremos nuestra Misa tradicional el Día de
Acción de Gracias. Así como en años anteriores,
invitamos a las familias a traer el pan que
compartirán durante su comida a la Misa
donde el pan será bendecido.
Este año les pedimos que traigan
alimentos no perecederos (arroz, pasta,
conservas, cereales, etc.) a la Misa para
ofrecerles a la Despensa de Comida. La
despensa está casi sin comida. Muchas
familias dependen de la despensa para

ADVIENTO 2016
This week brings an end to the liturgical year. Next
week we begin Advent. Advent is a time of waiting.
We await the coming of the Lord. We do not know
the day nor the hour but the Lord has promised to
return. We await and prepare for the celebration of
the Lord’s coming into our history at Christmas.
Esta semana nos lleva al termino del año litúrgico. La
próxima semana empezamos el Adviento. El Adviento
es un tiempo de espera. Esperamos la llegada del Señor.
No sabemos el día ni la hora pero el Señor ha prometido

GRATITUDE: A THOUGHT
Gratitude is about the way I
position myself toward my own
life, other people, creation, the
world, and the Divine.
Gratitude opens the heart.
When I am grateful, even about
some small thing, that response
opens me up. Gratitude helps me
take the risk and open my life to what wonders might
come along.
Gratitude shifts the mind into a positive
perspective.
Gratitude is not always easy, but it’s simple to
practice. All I have to do is ask myself this question, or
one like it: What am I grateful for today, right now? At the
end of the day, I can make a list of anything in the day
that felt good or worked well or gave me cause to say
“thank you.” These practices are simple enough for
children to do.
May each of us practice gratitude a little more as
the days and years go by.
GRATITUD: UN PENSAMIENTO
La gratitud es sobre la forma en
que me posiciono hacia mi
propia vida, otras personas, la
creación, el mundo y lo Divino.
La gratitud abre el corazón.
Cuando estoy agradecido, incluso

nursing home or a hospital.

BAPTISM - (English) Registration begins with an
interview of the child’s parent. Parents must call
office to make an appointment. Parent meeting as
well as pre-baptismal class for parents and
godparents is not optional. If Parent or Godparent
(s) have baptized in the last 12 months from the
date of intended baptism, proof must be provided
(where and when class was taken); a letter or card
from the parish. It is a Church requirement that at
least one Godparent has the Sacrament of
Confirmation. It is the expectation that Godparents
are practicing Catholics.
