The Holy Trinity and Christian Faith
The mystery of the Holy Trinity is the central mystery of Christian faith and life. It is
the mystery of God in Himself. It is, therefore, the source of all the other mysteries
of faith, the light that enlightens them. It is the most fundamental and essential
teaching in the "hierarchy of the truths of faith."
The whole history of salvation is identical with the history of the way and the
means by which the one true God-Father,
Son, and Holy Spirit-reveals
Himself
to men, and reconciles and unites with Himself those who turn away from sin.
Daniel Callan Ordained to the
Diaconate This Weekend
Daniel Callan will be ordained to the Order of the
Diaconate, on Saturday, June 2, 10:30 a.m., at
Sacred Heart Cathedral, 296 Flower City Park.
Daniel, who was awarded a Master of Arts in Pastoral
Studies this past May 11 at St. Bernard's School of
Theology and Ministry, will celebrate his ordination with
a Mass of Thanksgiving on Sunday, June 10, 9:00 a.m., at
St. Frances Xavier Cabrini parish's Our Lady of the
Americas church.
All parishioners are invited to join Deacon Daniel and
his family at OLAM on this joyful day, which is the
culmination of five years of study.
We wish him all the best in his future ministry.
Temporary Home Needed for Two Cats
Merlin and Fiona are their names, and they are two cats in need
of a home for one year, while the owner, Elizabeth Ahern, a St.
Frances Xavier Cabrini parishioner, is teaching English in
southern Turkey.
Merlin is a 3-year-old, long-haired, orange tiger cat, who
loves everyone, but needs to be on a special diet. Fiona is also 3
years old, and is a shy, reserved Calico who would do best in a
quiet home. (She eventually will warm up to those around her).
While Ms. Ahern would prefer to keep them together, she
realizes that might not be possible. She is more than willing to
provide for their adequate care. Both cats are healthy and
happy, and they need a home from August 2012 through the
end of summer 2013.

Many religions invoke God as "Father." The deity is often
considered the father of gods and of men. In Israel, God is
called "Father" inasmuch as He is Creator of the world. He is
also called the Father of the king of Israel. Most especially,
He is the Father of the poor, of the orphaned and widowed,
who are under His loving protection.
Jesus revealed that God is Father in an unheard-of-sense:
He is Father, not only in being Creator;
He is eternally Father in relation to His
only Son, who is eternally Son only in
relation to His Father. "No one knows the

Son except the Father, and no one knows

the Father except the Son, and anyone to
whom the Son chooses to reveal Him. (Matthew 11-27).

From the beginning, the revealed truth of the Holy Trinity
has been at the very root of the Church's living faith,
principally by means of Baptism. It finds its expression in
the rule of baptismal faith, formulated in the preaching,
catechesis, and prayer of the Church.

THE DOGMA OF THE HOLY TRINITY
The Trinity is One. We do not confess three Gods, but one
God in three persons, the "consubstantial Trinity." The
divine persons do not share the one divinity among
themselves, but each of them is God, whole and entire.
The divine persons are distinct from one another. God is one,
but not solitary. "Father," "Son," and "Holy Spirit" are not
simply names; they are distinct from one another.
The divine persons are relative to one another. In the
relational names of the persons the Father is related to the
Son, the Son to the father, and the Holy Spirit to both. While
they are called three persons in view of their relations, we
believe in one nature or substance. The Father is wholly in
the Son and Holy Spirit; the Son is wholly in the Father and
Holy Spirit; and, the Holy Spirit is wholly in the Father and in
the Son.

La Santisima Trinidad y la Fe Cristiana
EI misterio de la Santisima Trinidad es el misterio central de la Fe Cristiana y de la vida. Es el

ordenaci6n con una Misa de Acci6n de Gracia el Domingo
10 June, 9:00 a.m., en la Parroquia Santa Francisca Javier
Cabrini, Iglesia de Nuestra Senora de las Maericas.
Todos los feligreses estan invitados a compartir con
Diacono Daniel y su familia en OLAM este dla de alaegria,
que es la culminaci6n de cinco anos de estudio.
Le deseamos todo 10 major en su futuro ministerio.
Dos Gatas Necesitan De Un HogarTemporal
Merlin y Fiona son los nombres, y son las gatas que necesitan un
hogar por un ario, mientras que su duefia, Elizabeth Ahern, una
feligresa de Santa Francisca Javier Cabrini, se va a enseriar Ingles
a Turkey.
Merlin tiene 3-arios, tiene pelo largo, es un gato color tigre, que
quiere a todos, pero necesita estar con una dieta especial. Fiona
es tam bien de 3 alios, y es muy timida, muy reservada y prefiere
un hogar tranquilo. (Pero, ella, luego hace amistosa con los que Ie
rodean).
La senora Ahern preferiria dejarlas juntas, pero ella sabe que
esto pod ria ser no posible. Ella esta dispuesta a proveer por el
cuidado adecuado. Ambas gatas son saludables y felices, y
necesitan un hagar desde Agosto de 2012 hasta finales del verano
del 2013.

Desde el principio,
la verdad
revelada de la Santisima Trinidad ha estado en la ralz
misma de la fe viva de la Iglesia, principalmente por
medio del Bautisma. Encuentra su expresi6n en el
sacramento de la fe bautismal, formulada en la
predicaclon, la catequesis y la oracion de la Iglesia.
EL DOGMA DE LA SANTislMA TRINIDAD
La Trinidad es una. No confesamos tres dioses sino un solo
Dios en tres personas: "Ia Trinidad consubstancial". Las
personas divinas no se reparten la (mica divinidad, entre
elias, pero cada uno de ellos es Dios en sf.
Las personas divinas son distintas el uno del otro. Dios es
uno, pero no solitario. "Padre", "Hijo", y "Espiritu Santo" no
son simplemente nombres, sino que son distintos el uno
delotro.
Las tres personas divinas son una respecta 01 atro. En los
nombres relativos de las personas esta relacionada con el
Padre al Hijo, el Hijo al Padre, y del Espiritu Santo a los dos.
Aunque se les llama alas tres personas en vista de sus
relaciones, creemos en una sola naturaleza 0 sustancia. EI
Padre esta todo en el Hl]o y el Espiritu Santo, el Hijo es
todo en el Padre y el Espiritu Santo, y el Espiritu Santo esta
todo en el Padre y en el Hijo.
