Financial Policies of Mi Escuelita Spanish Immersion Preschool
Application Fee
A $35.00 non-refundable application fee must accompany the application for processing. The fee only applies if the child is new
to Mi Escuelita, not for returning children.
Confirmation Fee
After the Administrative Coordinator gives your child a space in a class, there will be a non-refundable confirmation fee
requested to hold the space for your child. A letter will be sent to your address on record requesting this fee and must be returned
by the requested date (generally two weeks before the child attends Mi Escuelita) in order to reserve the spot. These funds will be
used to pay for materials your child needs and uses during his/her tenure at Mi Escuelita. This fee is $220.
Tuition
Tuition rates are suggested by the budget committee and approved by the Mi Escuelita Board of Directors each year. Tuition is
paid monthly and is due on the 1st of each month. Any payments received after the 5th of the month are subject to a late payment
fee of $25 that will be added to the following month’s payment. To avoid late payments and to more easily make tuition
payments, please contact your bank to arrange automatic bank draft tuition payments. You must notify your bank if/when your
child’s tuition changes and to stop the payments when your child stops attending the school.
The first month’s tuition is due in full on the first day of attendance at Mi Escuelita. This amount will be deposited and credited
immediately. In addition to the first month’s tuition, a deposit of $500 (or one month’s tuition, if less than $500) is required that
will be used for the child’s last month of tuition. This amount is due on the first day of enrollment. These funds will be drawn
upon only to credit the last month’s tuition. (No interest is paid on this amount.)
Families are responsible for the full tuition payment every month regardless of absences due to family vacation, illness or other
reasons – monthly tuition will not be prorated. Parents who have not paid their child’s tuition by the 5th day of the month in
which it is due will be notified. If payment of the tuition is not paid for one month, the family must contact the Executive
Director for possible assistance or to make other mutually agreeable arrangements with the School. After two months, if tuition
and late fees have not been paid, or if other arrangements have not been made with the School, the parents will be asked to
withdraw their child from the School. Mi Escuelita is committed to working with parents to find an arrangement that will enable
them to maintain their child’s account in good standing. It is the parents’ responsibility, however, to take proactive steps in
contacting the School and working with the School to keep the child’s tuition and late fees paid-in-full in accordance with this
stated policy. With regard to withdrawal from Mi Escuelita, if a child’s last day at Mi Escuelita will take place on or prior to the
final weekday of the month, written notice of withdrawal is required by the last weekday of the preceding month. Failure to
provide written notice by this date will result in a charge for tuition for the full month subsequent to withdrawal. For example, if
the intention is to withdraw a child in the middle of June, notice must be received no later than the last weekday in May and a full
month’s tuition is due for the month of June.
Scholarships and tuition subsidy for income-eligible children are available. Please request information about Mi Escuelita
“Lucerito Scholarship” from the office.

Late pick up fee
There will be a late charge for children being picked up after the contracted time. A Fee of $5.00 will be collected when you are
over 5 minutes late and $1.00 for each minute thereafter. The fee is paid to the Director after receipt of a signed late pick up form.
Payments
Please make payments in the form of checks or money orders or automatic bank drafts payable to Mi Escuelita (no cash).
Payments should be mailed to Mi Escuelita, P.O. Box 579, Carrboro, NC 27510.
Mi Escuelita’s Employee Identification Number (EIN) is 56-2124159 in case you require it for childcare reimbursements.

Costo de aplicación
La aplicación de ingreso tiene un cargo de $35. Este cargo se aplica solo a los niños que ingresan por primera vez.
Costo de confirmación
Después de que a un niño se le reserve su vacante, habrá un cargo de confirmación no reembolsable de $220 para guardar la
vacante. Usted recibirá una carta oficial pidiendo este pago y debe contestar antes de la fecha indicada en la carta para reservar la
vacante. Los fondos se usan para pagar algunos materiales que el niño necesitará durante su estancia en MI Escuelita.
Pago mensual
El pago mensual es sugerido por el comité de presupuesto y aprobado por la junta directiva de Mi Escuelita cada año. La fecha de
vencimiento de la mensualidad es el 1º de cada mes. Los pagos recibidos después del 5 de cada mes son sujetos a un cargo por
tardanza de $25 que serán añadidos al pago del siguiente mes.
Para evitar recargos por tardanza y hacer su pago más fácil, por favor contáctese con su banco para realizar retiros automáticos.
Usted deberá notificar a su banco de cualquier cambio de la mensualidad de su(s) niño(s) y de detener los pagos cuando éste deje
de asistir a la escuela.
El plazo de la mensualidad del primer mes vence el primer día que el niño asista a la escuela. Esta suma será depositada a
ingresada inmediatamente.
El plazo de la mensualidad del último mes también vence el primer día que el niño asista a la escuela esta suma será guardada en
una cuenta de confianza durante la estancia del niño en la escuela. La suma no puede ser menor que la mensualidad más reciente
del niño. Solo se hará uso de estos fondos si el balance del niño es vencido y no ha pagado, para acreditar la mensualidad del
último mes. La familia tiene que entregar más dinero para tener en la cuenta y pagar el cargo de tardanza.
Las familias son responsables de pagar la mensualidad a pesar de las ausencias del niño debido a las vacaciones de la familia,
enfermedad u otras razones. La mensualidad nunca esta proporcionada. Se necesita dar aviso por escrito, con un mes de
anticipación cuando usted tenga la intención de retirarse de Mi Escuelita. Los padres que no hayan pagado la matrícula de sus
hijos en el quinto día del mes en el que se debe, serán notificados. Si el pago de la matrícula no se hace durante un mes, la familia
debe contactar al Director Ejecutivo para su posible asistencia o para hacer otros arreglos mutuamente aceptables con la Escuela.
Después de dos meses, si la pensión y los cargos por tardanza, no han sido pagados, o si otros acuerdos no han sido hechos, se les
pedirá a los padres retirar a su hijo(s) de la escuela. Mi Escuelita está comprometida a trabajar con los padres para encontrar un
acuerdo que les permita mantener la cuenta de su hijo en buen estado. Es responsabilidad de los padres, sin embargo, tomar las
medidas eficientes en contactar la Escuela para mantener la matrícula del niño y los cargos por tardanza pagados-en su totalidad,
de acuerdo con esta póliza.

Cargos por tardanza al recoger al niño.
Hay un cargo de retraso por cada niño recogido después del tiempo acordado. El cargo es de $5 después de cinco minutos de
retraso y $1 por cada minuto adicional. Este pago se hace a la directora después de firmar una forma de tardanza a la hora de
recoger al niño.
Pagos
Por favor pague con cheque o giro postal o giros automáticos bancarios a nombre de Mi Escuelita (no se acepta dinero en
efectivo). Mande los pagos a: Mi Escuelita, P. O. Box 579, Carrboro, NC 27510. Si usted necesita tramitar algún reembolso por
el cuidado de sus niños, el número de identificación de empleo de Mi Escuelita es (EIN) 56-2124159.
