• Nace en 1624 como Colegio Jesuita
• Obtiene su autonomía en 1923 – p

• Es la universidad estatal líder en México por sus
indicadores. Reconocimiento Nacional de Calidad 2005,
2006 y 2007.
• Tiene 65 programas educativos en áreas como: Ingeniería,
Medicina, Ciencias Químicas, Enfermería, Estomatología,
Ciencias,, Administración,, etc.
• Tiene 18,700 estudiantes de nivel de licenciatura y 1,500 en
el nivel de Posgrado.

• El Servicio Social nace en México 1936 –Convenio entre
la UNAM y el Departamento de Salud Pública y con la
creación del IPN (PEMEX).
• En la Ley de Profesiones del Estado de SLP de 1939 se
establece la obligatoriedad del Servicio Social –
Duración mínima de 6 meses.
• En 1997 se acuerda en ANUIES la creación de la
Comisión Nacional de Servicio Social.
