Good and Bad Habits
Whether we are talking about good food and health habits or bad food and health habits
there are several useful expressions that we can use in Spanish ;
Me gusta …... I like …...
No me gusta …... I don't like …...
Prefiero …... I prefer …...
Detesto …... I hate …...
Me encanta …... I love …...
Es necesario …... It's necessary …...
Es importante …... It's important …...
Odio …... I hate …...
Quiero ….. I want …...
Tengo que …... I have to …....
Creo que ….. I think that …...
After all of these expressions you need to put an infinitive. The first verb shows us who is
doing the action and it's the verb that we chose to put after it that goes in the infinitive.

Here are some infinitive verbs that we might use when talking about good and bad verb
habits ;
comer to eat
beber to drink
hacer to do
fumar to smoke
evitar to avoid
estudiar to study
despertarse* to wake up
dormirse* to sleep
acostarme* to go to bed
entrenarse * to train
mantenerse* en forma to keep fit
levantarse* to get up
relajarse* to relax
* all of these verbs are reflexive and depending on who you are talking about you need to
remember to change the reflexive pronoun at the end. (If you are talking about yourself you
change the -se for -me.)

Now that we have the beginnings of sentences and some infinitives we can start to build
sentences like these.
A very useful verb when talking about good and bad habits in Spanish is the verb soler. This
verb, which is also used with an infinitive, is used to talk about thing that you or other
people usually do.
