TAKING A WALK IN THE CLIFFS PRESERVE: EL OLIVILLO TRAIL
El Olivillo Trail is ideal for those who want to walk a longer distance
and observe at the same time the wild life, the forest and the coast
of The Cliffs Preserve.
From the beginning, this trek will take us deep into the forest, being
its major attractive the longevity and diversity of dominant vegetative
species, like Olivillo (Aextoxicon Puctatum), Luma (Luma Apiculata),
and Coigüe of Chiloe (Nothofagus Nitida), among others. All of them
dominate the view to the coast from their highest tops.
The resident birds like the Chucao and Huet-Huet will be present in
this trail until arriving in Ortiga Beach. The scenery will change as
we start the way back to the lodge walking through the coastal
border. Birds as the Pelican (Pelecanus Thagus), Booby (Sula
Variegata), Sanderlings (Calidris Alba) and Cormorants (Phalacrocorax
sp) can be seen in this amazing scenario.

Un sendero ideal para quienes desean realizar una caminata
prolongada, disfrutando de la vida silvestre, el bosque y la costa de
The Cliffs Preserve es el sendero El Olivillo
Desde su inicio, este sendero nos interna en un bosque cuyo mayor
atractivo radica en la longevidad y diversidad de especies arbóreas,
imponiéndose el Olivillo (Aextoxicon Punctatum), Luma y tal vez
algunos Coihues de Chiloé entre otros, todos dominando la vista
hacia la costa desde sus altas copas.
El Chucao y el Huet Huet son pájaros residentes que nos
acompañarán en este sendero hasta llegar a Playa Ortiga, donde
cambiaremos de escenario disfrutando de una caminata por el
borde costero en nuestro regreso al Lodge, junto las aves de la zona
como el Pelícano, Piqueros, Playeros y Cormoranes.
