1. Los estudiantes escuchan y repiten chants al jugar, aplaudiendo con las manos.
Por ejemplo:
Double double ice ice,
Double double cream cream.

2. Escuchan atentamente un cuento que el docente lee en voz alta y proyecta. Miran las imágenes
para comprender el cuento. El profesor hace preguntas y comentarios sobre las imágenes.
3. Escuchan rimas tradicionales que el docente recita. El profesor los invita a repetir algunas
palabras que conocen hasta que poco a poco aprenden la rima de memoria y pueden decirla con
menos ayuda.
Por ejemplo:
Jack and Jill went up the hill,
To fetch a pail of water.
Jack fell down and broke his crown,
And Jill came tumbling after.
