This past Wednesday, June 29, Father Ramon Baez joined
us as our new parochial vicar at Good Shepherd Church.
Father Ramon was ordained a priest for the Diocese of
Arlington on June 11, 2005.
El pasado miércoles 29 de junio, el Padre Ramon Baez se
ha unido a nosotros como nuestro nuevo vicario parroquial
en El Buen Pastor. El Padre Ramon fue ordenado sacerdote
de la Diócesis de Arlington el 11 de junio del 2005.
He has previously served as parochial
vicar at the churches of St. Anthony (Falls
Church), Sacred Heart (Winchester), St.
Leo (Fairfax) and Our Lady of Angels
(Woodbridge).
Anteriormente, ha servido como vicario
parroquial en las Iglesias de St. Anthony
(Falls Church), Sacred Heart (Winchester),

Father Ramon is a native of Puerto Rico

I have known Father Ramon since the time
of his ordination to be a hard-working,
devout, generous and kind priest.

speaking parishioners here at Good Shepherd, and we

As Catholics we are all called to serve in
ministry. However, many of us are unsure
how to use our talents and gifts to build
God’s Church. Talk to God and ask Him
what He wants you to do. The next time
one of your fellow parishioners asks you
to help or join a committee, it may be the
answer to your prayer.

Presentación de Niños en la Misa
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy
Communion - Holy Hour
Es una bonita costumbre presentar en la Misa a los niños
de meses de nacidos y aún no bautizados. Ellos son
presentados ante el altar para que Dios los bendiga, y a
la vez, darle gracias por el don de sus vidas. Los niños
ya bautizados no necesitan ser presentados porque en el
bautismo han recibido la más grande bendición: Dios los ha
hecho sus hijos y la Iglesia los ha recibido como miembros
del pueblo de Dios.
Para presentarlos, deben llamar a la oficina parroquial para
programar la fecha. No se puede presentar espontáneamente
a un niño en el momento en que otros niños están siendo
presentados. En cada Misa solamente se permite la
presentación de tres niños/as.
