This occurs in Chrome version 42 and newer releases Environment SAP Business Objects XI 3.1 SAP Business Intelligence Platform 4.0 SAP Business Intelligence Platform 4.1 Web Intelligence Java Report Panel (XI 3.1) Rich Internet Application (BI 4.0) Web Intelligence Applet interface (BI 4.1) Reproducing the Issue 1. Log into BI Launchpad or InfoView using Chrome version 42 or newer 2. Create a new report, or edit an existing report in the Java editor specific to the product version (Java Report Panel, Rich Internet Application or Web Intelligence Applet interface) 3. For XI 3.1, the list of universes will appear. Choose a universe. 4. The message "This plug-in is not supported" appears and the Applet does not launch Cause This behavior is a result of intended changes within the Chrome browser to disable NPAPI plugins, which includes the Java Runtime Environment that Web Intelligence uses. In Chrome 42 and earlier: The NPAPI plugins can be re-enabled by typing the following into the Chrome browser's address bar: chrome://flags/#enable-npapi Under the section "Enable NPAPI", click Enable. Restart Chrome Workaround: The Web Intelligence Rich Client (all product versions), Web Intelligence Web interface (XI 3.1 and BI 4.0) and Web Intelligence HTML interface (BI 4.1) all work without any problems. Please Note: The Oracle Java Runtime Environment is no longer supported in Chrome, unless Oracle releases a new JRE that works around the NPAPI limitations.
