Interested in your student attending
the K-8 STEM Academy next year?
Parents of students who wish to enroll in the K-8 STEM Academy next fall should make
note of the following dates for required parent orientations.
Those who attend orientations one, two and three will receive priority.
Orientation # 1 – Overview (pick one) from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Oct. 22 – Brent Elementary School
Wednesday, Oct. 23 - Chavez Elementary School
Thursday, Oct. 24 – Zellars Elementary School
Orientation #2 – Curriculum and Theme (pick one) from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Nov. 5 – Brent Elementary School
Wednesday, Nov. 6 - Chavez Elementary School
Thursday, Nov. 7 – Zellars Elementary School
Orientation # 3 – Experience Night (pick one) from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Tuesday, Nov. 12 - Little Elm High School
Wednesday, Nov. 13 – Little Elm High School
This open enrollment campus does not require any testing or academic requirements
to attend. Students who are zoned and reside in The Tribute Homeowner’s Association
(HOA) have a priority seat. Other seats will be filled through random drawing, with allotments per campus.
Applicants from Zellars Elementary School will have additional seats available for the
2014-2015 school year.
A system will be in place to attach older to younger siblings, so that siblings who wish to
attend the Academy together will have the opportunity to do so. The district’s goal is
to have all families notified by late January of their student’s school for the 2014-2015
school year.

La inscripción abierta para este campus no exige evaluación o requisitos académicos
para asistir. Los estudiantes que viven en la zona escolar de la Asociación de Vecinos
“The Tribute” (HOA) tienen prioridad en el cupo de asistencia. Los otros lugares para
asistencia a este campus se distribuyen en una lotería con ciertos lugares por campus.
Los solicitantes a este campus de la Primaria Zellars cuentan con lugares adicionales
para el ciclo escolar 2014-2015.
Se utilizará un sistema para que estudiantes que son hermanos mayores puedan asistir a
la Academia junto a sus hermanos menores y contar con esta oportunidad.
La meta del distrito es notificar a todas las familias a más tardar en el mes de enero
paraaquellos estudiantes a cursar el año escolar 2014-2015 en la Academia. Si usted
