September 3, 2014 032 Standardized Derivatives Market is the BVC's Leading Player During August In the BVC, the eighth month of 2014 closed out with the year's highest derivatives market trading volume. A total of COP 9.63 trillion (nominal) worth of resources were moved, or 16.32% of the COP 59.04 trillion traded in the year thus far. Looking at historic averages, the amount traded in August 2014 places it as the fifth best month ever. The all-time record occurred in April 2013, when trading of these instruments reached COP 16.09 trillion. The positive trend was also seen in daily volumes. On the final trading day of August, trading on the BVC's derivatives market reached COP 1.13 trillion: the fourth highest day during its six years of operation. A total of 69,035 agreements were negotiated during the month, for the year's second highest figure. In April 2014 the amount arrived to 85,803 agreements. The most-traded futures during this period were TES futures of specific references and Peso-Dollar representative exchange rate futures.
